Holiday rental house / villa / chateau set in 50 acres with staff and heated swimming pool. Escrimis-la-Chapelle stands in 50 acres of woodland, vineyards and meadows that run down to the River Osse, a tributary of La Baïse. A rugged track leads to the secluded two storey house, the origins of which date back 800 years. Situated below the brow of the highest local hill and next to a ruined thirteenth century chapel, the house is thought originally to have been a combined watch tower and pilgrimage stop-over en route to Saint Jacques de Compostelle in Spain. The grounds fall away to the South providing long, unbroken views, on a clear day as far as the Pyrenees. The location is secluded and yet only 7km from the busy cathedral town of Condom-en-Armagnac with its bustling markets on Wednesdays and Sundays. A maid (4 hours a day except Sunday) provides cleaning services, makes the beds etc. and will deliver your fresh bread and croissants to order for breakfast.
