I have stayed in many VRBO rentals for years, but this cottage was far above what I have experienced in many ways! The location is perfectly situated---close to town, but set back from the road and very, very quiet and peaceful. To experience the gardens for what they really are, you must stay there! Because the pictures don't do it justice at all! This is a miniature Butchart Gardens for sure :) The owners used to have a nursery, and definitely know what they are doing with gardening. Everywhere you look, there is beauty, and even along the path that leads back to the cabin there is wonder as flowers abound and the air was filled with the sweet smell of honeysuckle! There are many varieties of conifers as well as other trees and beautiful vegetables growing. The accommodations in the cabin are modest, but Becci excels at customer service and was by far the most helpful and accommodating hostess I have ever had traveling! If there was a concern, she was on it immediately. For example, she asked how I had slept the first night, and I answered that I slept pretty good, but I was getting used to the bed. That night when I returned to the cabin, there was a memory foam mattress topper on my bed!! I had not even hinted for one at all, but Becci was always a "step ahead" and took care of it that day. She even made me vegan muffins from scratch, which she had not attempted to do before, and they were not only made from love, but very yummy!! She had soy milk available in the frig as well. We loved staying at the cottage so much, we stopped on our way back down to Victoria and stayed one more night. It was very hard to leave this beautiful and precious "jewel" , and I would go out of my way at any time in the future to return to Stone Tree Cottage!! Thank you Becci, once again, for everything!!!! You are truly an amazing woman, and your joy for life and your job shine like the stars and is so contagious!!
My husband and I, along with my sister and her husband , from Saskatchewan were fortunate enough to stay due to a cancellation. We felt so lucky as we weren't looking forward to hoteling it! We stayed for 2 nights while attending the VI MusicFest last week-end. Wish we could've stayed longer to explore the woodland trails as it was such a tranquil setting. The cottage was very clean ,comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts very engaging and inspirational garden enthusiasts. Thanks again Becci and Keith
This is a lovely cottage, which could sleep 4, but is perfect for 2. It is hidden away at the back of a beautiful garden, where you don't hear a sound. The back garden gate opens out onto a 20-acre park with walking trails. Keith & Becci are charming, unobtrusive hosts. I will be back for the music festival in July. It is 3 minutes by car, or a 15 minute walk, from the city centre.
Stone Tree Cottage provided us with the most relaxing restful environment we could have asked for for our vacation time. Just what we needed! The cottage is charming and spotless with all the amenities needed. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever had in a vacation rental. Sitting on the front porch in the mornings with our coffee looking out at our private expansive garden view was the best part of the day. Our hosts, Keith and Becci, were so gracious and informative of things to do in the area and very willing to answer questions about the thousands of different plants on the grounds. We came home with lots of ideas for our own garden. It is a private oasis in the middle of the beautiful Comox valley. We definitely would like to return.
This private immaculately kept cottage, nestled into the stunning gardens on a large piece of property, is a gem. It was a wonderful place to return to after taking in Courtenay's amazing 3 day Music Fest and anyone visiting the region would be hard pressed to find a better place to call home. The comfy bed, nice linens, tasteful yet homey decor and well equipped kitchen made for a perfect stay. Sitting on the deck with a morning coffee listening to the songbirds was a fine way to start the day. Plus being surrounded by gardens worthy of a magazine photo spread made it extra special. The hosts clearly love and cherish their property and are happy to share it with guests. We lucked out and got treated to freshly baked scones on our arrival by the lovely owners. This is another VRBO experience which exceeded our expectations on all levels. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.
