BEAUTIFUL NEW HOUSE WITH STUNNING HARBOUR VIEWS

Beara Peninsula (Cork) House Rental Photos and Description

4 bedroom house sleeps up to 9 in large private garden near Castletownbere

This architect designed, newly built, house features a large sheltered front patio and a decked loggia both with wonderful views over the harbour, the fishing port and the nearby mountains. The house is bright and spacious and has beautiful contemporary styling throughout. The open plan dining and living areas have open access to a fully equipped modern kitchen. The dining room has French door access to the deck for outdoor dining with clean air and breathtaking scenery. Downstairs, the large master bedroom has an elegant sun room for relaxed reading and French door access to the front patio equipped with comfortable wooden furniture. Although the views are stunning the property is well sheltered, being surrounded by trees, and is therefore enjoyable at all seasons of the year. There is a well maintained half acre garden filled with mature and young local trees and sufficient green space for children to play.

The house is in a great location for exploring the Beara Peninsula and the wider West Cork and South Kerry areas. The lovely village of Allihies is 10km away - on the way you will pass the road to Dzogchen Beara the famous Tibetan Buddhist Centre with unmissable sea views and serene peacefulness. At the end of the Peninsula, Dursey Island is worth a visit and boasts Europe's only oversea’s cable car. Bere Island has a ferry service for foot passengers and cars and is a walker’s heaven. The pretty villages of Glengariff and Eyeries are nearby and while in Glengariff why not take a boat across to beautiful Italian gardens at Garinish Island. Kenmare is less than an hour by car and features some of the best gourmet dining in all of Ireland. Bantry is also in easy driving distance and from there it is easy to get to Bantry House and Gardens, Gougane Barra, Sheep’s and Mizen Head.

The Healy Pass will take your breath away especially when you see Glanmore Lake. Visit the famous McCarthy's Bar in Castletownbere made famous in Pete MacCarthy's book - there's umpteen ways to enjoy your time, get to know the people and experience the craic.

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE AND BEAUTIFUL LOCATION.

  • 5 of 5
A very well equipped, spacious and comfortable house with good views.Ours was a three generation family visit and we found plenty of interest in the area. Super quiet small coves at Zetland pier and seal visiting from Glengarriff were particular favourites. McCarthy's bar and Murphys restaurant were good.Healy pass was well worth a journey.
Castletownbere was interesting with active shipping, good supermarket and interesting views.
The admin arrangements were easy-E Mail questions answered quickly and clearly.
This holiday location is well recommended. Ron and Pam.

  • 4 of 5
We stayed in this house with 6 adults and 2 childeren and we had plenty of room.

The bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms are very compleet.
The garden was very nice with a beautiful patio and the boys could play there with the bal.
The locals in Castetownbere where very friendly and nice, you can easely walk to the town.
Also there are some nice pubs and restaurants, the supermarket is 7 days a week open.
We went on daytrips to Kenmare, Killarney, Bere Island, Bantry etc and in the house was a information map that was very usefull.
We didn't meet the owners so I know them only by mail but they where friendly and helpfull.

I can recommend this house to anywone !

IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER

It doesn't get much better

Just back after a month's visit to Ireland, including two weeks in Castletownbere. We loved everyday we spent there, not only was there so much to explore in the area and the locals very friendly, but we also loved chilling out in the house. Never have we stayed in a holiday home and felt so at home almost immediately and for two weeks it was home. The kitchen was so well set up that we hardly ate out and we loved the outdoor eating area. And on top of it all we had the best weather Ireland had experienced in years. We'll miss that view and will remember it for months to come.

  • 5 of 5
Just to say we had a wonderful time at this great house, the views from all parts of the house was great we did some touring into glengraiff, killarney, Bantry bay and Dursey island found the people very nice and friendly. We had lovely meals in Jack Patricks and they were very reasonable, and always got our fresh bread there; their wheaten bread is lovely.we did cook some at home to, and the kitchen was gem to cook in everything you can think of is there. Many thanks to Noel for leaving us bread milk and a lovely bottle of wine, All in all we had a wonderful time and we were very sorry to leave.

FANTASTIC FAMILY HOLIDAY

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in this superb house with our children and grandchildren for a week in July. The house was amazing, there were 8 adults and 3 children with plenty of room for all of us. The owners had left it sparkling clean for our arrival, along with some lovely local bread, cheese and wine - what more could we have asked for! The house was really well equipped with everything we needed.

The weather was fabulous and we had some great day trips to Dursey, Bere Island and Kenmare followed by bbq's on the lovely patio with a beautiful view.

A few drinks in McCarthys Bar, just a short walk away finished the day off nicely!

Would recommend this house to anyone
