The country side surrounding the villa has many delightful Italian towns which hosts historical sites, churches, and restaurants. The town of Penne is a short 10 minute car ride away from this secluded estate. This historic town provides supermarkets, restaurants, bars and a Saturday outdoor market. In addition, the villa is about 12 minutes from Loreto Aprutino. If you would prefer the ocean air and beaches, a 30 minute car ride will have you at the Adriatic at the North end of Pescara where there are extensive sandy beaches with safe swimming. Along the beach area are many restaurants, bars and shopping. In you are feeling up for a physical challenge, the Gran Sasso National Park is only 50 minutes away and can provide challenging hikes up to an elevation of 9000ft. The local Italians are big on picnicking and the mountains have many sites with tables and barbecues Or if you prefer Rome and Tivoli are a short 2 hour drive away.
