Photos and Description of the County Sligo vacation apartment rental 3 bedroom apartment to sleep 5/6 in N W Ireland near Innishfree

The apartment is situated in an annexe of Moorfield House, a large historic property on 2 acres of gardens with views of Ben Bulben mountain. It comprises of 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a sitting room, a bathroom. The entrance to the apartment is up a flight of stone steps to a verandah and the door to the apartment is off this verandah. This a totally private entrance and there is a large tarmacadam yard for parking. The property is in a wooded area with gardens and woods safe for children. The roads and lanes around us are ideal for walking. We, the owners, have recently upgraded the apartment and it is newly carpeted, freshly painted and is a very peasant warm inviting place. We are recently retired teachers who live in the front part of Moorfield and we would be happy to advise, babysit or help our residents in any way possible. We also guarantee privacy to our visitors. We will be only too happy to supply photos or other information if requested to do so.

Moorfield House is situated in the North West of Ireland between Benbulben Mt. and Sligo Bay close to the village of Carney and 1 mile from Drumcliffe where the poet W.B.Yeats is buried. This a beautiful scenic area immortalised by the poet Yeats. The nearest beach ,Lissadell is 1 mile from us to the west. Sligo town is 6 miles south and Lough Gill is 5 miles south east. Other beaches are Rosses point (where there is a championship golf course) and Strandhill (well known surfing beach). Our house is situated in a wooded area on a bye road just off N15. There are opportunities for golf, fishing, surfing, mountain hiking, and interesting walks within a short drive from us.

Peace and silence guaranteed.Bed rooms are on first floor, off a corridor with bath room at one end of corridor and kitchen and sitting room at the other end. There is another ensuite bedroom available on ground level. This would sleep 2 people in a d.bed and would have an extra nominal charge. Bed rooms recently decorated.

Moorfield House: This house is 200 years old and we have owned it for 48 years. We are two retired teachers . Our family is reared and we let the apartment partly as a hobby and partly as a way of supplementing our income. We live on the property but at a remove from the apartment. Moorfield has two adjoining houses,a long cottage type house where we mainly live and an adjoining two storied house where the the apartment is on first floor. On the ground floor are our kitchen and an extra ensuite bedroom which is available for renting if required. Moorfield House is situated in a secluded wooded area ensuring privacy and tranquillity as well as safety for children.It is a wonderful place for children because they can explore the large gardens and surrounding woods and fields. The nearest beach is a 10 mins drive and is safe for swimming. The whole coast line around us is wonderful for seaside activities,swimming ,sailing and especially surfing on certain beaches.

Surrounding areas: Sligo town is an excellent shopping town and it is 15 mins away. The main road to Sligo is a short distance from the house and Drumcliffe where the poet W.B.Yeats is buried is 1 mile from us on the road to Sligo. Lissadell is the nearest beach and it is a secluded quiet delightful place. If you like walking this is the place for you. From Moorfield a circular walk under BenBulben takes 1 to 11/2 hours.There are lanes where one can walk in peace nearby and there is a large sports ground with running track and playing fields within a 5 mins walk. North of us near the village of Grange there are supermarkets and shops and riding stables. Fishing both river and sea is popular in the area. Of course golf is extremely popular and there are 3 golf courses within a short drive.

My family and I loved the apt in Sligo. Maura and Michael were so wecoming. We felt more like family than tenants. It was great to have room for two teenage boys! It was cool and rainy but they made sure we were warm enough. Their gardens were beautiful to look out upon.We used the apt as a base for exploring Sligo,Leitrim and parts of Donegal. We did not get to climb Benbulben because of the weather but we did climb Knocknaree and go see the tombs at Carrowmore which are nearby.I would definitely recommend this one!
