Practical and Sumptiously Appointed Apartment

On arrival, warmly greeted by Jacqui and Errol and shown to the spotless apartment. First impressions: Spacious, modern, well equipped, airy, fastidiously clean.
Quickly orientated around the facilities, and on getting about on the local buses. We didn't need a hire car, the buses worked really well and were incredibly cheap. A short ride from Holetown with shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants in one direction, and a 30 minute ride from Bridgetown in the other.
Pool area had comfy loungers, a BBQ for guest use and a sound system you could plug your own iPod into. We had the patio area to ourselves when ever we used it. Well equipped gym as well.
Use of the laundry!! Took clean clothes home and saved hours!!
Nothing was too much trouble for Jacqui - she arranged trips for us and advised us of good places to go. Try a Catermaran cruise, a day at The Boatyard in Bridgetown, a boat trip on the glass bottom boats, Jeep Safari for a bit of fun.
The bedrooms were fully airconditioned and were a very pleasant respite from the searing heat. Beautifully finished and appointed, including a safe; with bug screens on the windows and louvres to let the breeze in. I did not get ONE mosquito bite in 10 days. Plenty of hanging space and iron/board in the cupboard. It has been really well thought through.
The bathrooms and shower area again were spotless.
I was glad we called at a supermarket for some basics before getting to the apartment. We arrived on a Sunday and not much was open. Big fridge, cooker, crockery and cutlery - we made our own breakfasts each morning and ate them on the patio. Recommend you get some bits before you get to the apartment.
We ate at Ragamufffins (pricey/small portions); Angry Annies (excellent); Just Grillin' (best jerk chicken salad); The Boatyard (great value for day/beach fayre); Paulo do Churrasco (loved it); The Beach House (romantic/pricey); Surfside (fun), Zaccios (ex Cocomos, great pizza)
Location of this apartment is just off the main road and 150yds from the beach at Payne's Bay. Local lads look after you for beds, drinks etc. A few hawkers but they are not pushy. The beach was pretty empty but not full season. First Street on a Sunday eve is a must!!
Great sunsets, rum punch to die for, an apartment central to the action that was well appointed and spotless - what more could you wish for?
Jacqui explained that they are putting in a snack bar/food terrace shortly - even better!!
