Four bedroom three bath farmhouse in the heart of South Willamette Valley Wine Country. Great getaway spot and home base for tours and private events at the local wineries.
The Farmhouse and Loft are located on a 50 acre estate property just 20 minutes from Eugene and is easily accessible from Hwy 126, Beltline West and the greater Eugene area.
The Farmhouse is the perfect setting for a retreat, Family getaway or a tranquil domaine for the 'bride to be' and family before the big day. It is only 5 minutes from Sweetcheeks Winery and 10-30 minutes from seven other winery's in the area. Whether it's the Annual Barrel Tour, a winemakers dinner, a local wedding, retirement or anniversary party, this home will surely accomodate you, for all your 'home base' needs.
Our special little secret we lovingly call the 'Crows Nest'' is a separate loft on the same estate. Open living area one king bed and private bathroom. It has a private entrance and is a fabulous place to relax at the end of a busy week. This little gem has 'couple romantic getaway' written all over it.
This property can be rented ala cart or all inclusive, we offer your seventh night free when you book six nights. We do not offer this property as an event venue. It is unique and rare to have the opportunity to submerse yourself in the rural setting of viticulture with such a supreme homelike setting. Come stay awhile.
Dan Smith is the owner of Sweet Cheeks Winery and a few other properties in the Crow Valley. In 1976 Dan escaped the concrete and traffic of LA County with his very pregnant wife, kids, a dog, cat and a hampster. Dan arrived with that wide eyed appreciation of the beauty and diversity Oregon has to offer. He has devoted the last 36 years planting and nurturing his vineyards, building a successful winery and refurbishing several homes in the valley.
Tami Neumann purchased this farmhouse in 1984
This property was part of the original McCulloch Homestead that spread over 100 acres. The old McCulloch Cemetery is about 1/4 mile south of the estate. The home was built in 1904 and a picture in the sunroom of the farmhouse shows the McCulloch family and the original version of the house. There is an orchard the family planted visible from the westside deck of the house. Dan has remodeled the 'Farmhouse' to luxury status with a level of comfort that is felt when you walk through the door. When asked about what attracted Dan to this area, he said honestly it was the Ch'i of the valley that left an impression on his soul. Dan would like others to experience the peace and beauty embedded in this land.
Central location. Where ever you are coming from or going to. The coast, mountains, or right here in this valley, you are never too far or out of the way from your destination.
We had a great time at the Farmhouse! The place was great for a familly Thanksgiving. We'll be back. Great, secluded location - instead of bringing a turkey, we should have brought a shotgun since we had wild turkeys in the yard (kidding!). We also had deer, quail, and a neighbor dog..... Wonderful place for privacy, seclusion, and relaxation in nature.
We loved our holiday stay at the farmhouse. Two families returning home to Oregon for Christmas from Utah and Southern California. 7 guests; 4 adults, 2 teens, and a toddler. We were able to host our local extended family for get togethers. The large dining table was perfect for family meals.
The house is beautifully restored and feels brand new. Charmingly decorated and well appointed. Cooking in the large kitchen was a joy. A very cozy and warm home.
The beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed the enormous master suite. The claw foot tub and gas fireplace were the icing on the cake!
The owners were very easy to work with. Friendly, professional, and very quick to respond to any questions. They were very accommodating, going the extra mile to allow our local family to surprise us with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and other decorations upon arrival. It was a magical surprise.
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and afternoon walks around the area. However, we never found the old cemetery. One morning we were visited by a large flock of wild turkeys and later spotted several deer in the neighboring vineyard. I spent many hours curled up in the sunroom with a book, watching the fog roll across the little valley. Picturesque!
We hope to return someday.
We rented the farmhouse and loft for an extended family gathering, and the space was perfect for us. The kitchen has everything you'd need for cooking, there's a great washer and dryer and there was plenty of seating for everyone throughout the house. The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by apple trees. It's a great place in a beautiful location and a short drive to Eugene.
This house was perfect & we loved it! The location is nice & the area is beautiful. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The layout is open & the house overall is super comfortable. We did try out the hot tub & that was great too!
Tami was quick to answer questions & very hospitable. It was excellent!
We absolutely loved this property. It was convenient to wineries and our race. We could walk easily to Silvan and Sweet Cheeks. The location was so beautiful and quiet. It was perfect for kids and our large family. Never felt like we were bothering anyone when the kids ran in the fields and trees. Very safe. We would go back in a heart beat.
Thanks for having us
Our family, 3 adult children, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandaughters met at the Farmhouse on Tuesday before Thanksgving weekend to celebrate together. We came from Eugene, Chicago, and Orange Cnty, CA. The owners were very accommodating to our needs for small children. This place is somewhat remote, definitely a challenge to find at night in the fog, but well worth it. Hint: arrive when it is still light outside. It is so peaceful and the views of the vineyards and terrain are so beautiful. The house is decorated very tastefully and friendly for families and children. The kitchen was a delight to work in...lots of space and well equipped. The dining table had multiple leaves for expanding to accommodate us all for Thanksgiving. The 2 gas fireplaces took the damp chill out of the air. We did not rent the loft. Note: there was no TV/Cable connection and cell phone access was poor to nonextistent for most of us. However there was a DVR and flat screen TV monitor to play DVDs that we brought (no inventory at the Farmhouse). The hot tub on the deck was a real plus over the weekend. The Farmhouse is secluded, but enjoyable as we could focus our time on our grandchildren and family oriented activities over the holiday weekend. There are two wineries close by to visit.
