The location was nice and central to the museum, park and other downtown Victoria attractions and was advertised accurately.
I had to book this place at the last minute as my previous accommodation plans had fallen through and I was grateful to get it - then this happened......
The remote control to the garage did not work, and was asked to take it apart (after a number of back and forth e-mails) and fix it myself. Once I was able to get into the garage I found that there was a vehicle parked in my assigned spot, and it was up to me, to put a note on the vehicle to get the person to leave. I was unable to park in the spot for the first 4 nights of my arrival as a result.
The chair in the living room was broken, the knob on the dryer was broken, and the carpet heavily stained (not a big deal, but since I am writing a review I will mention it, as it attests to the attitude of the owner(s).
During my stay, there was a city wide power outage that resulted in the 'backup generator' in the basement coming on. The generator is located below the apartment, and the exhaust from it is directly below the deck of the condo. The fumes from the generator seeped into the apartment (due to there not being any weather stripping on the bottom of the door - may not be the only reason), and completely gassed me out of the place for a few hours (had the power outage lasted longer, I would have been unable to stay there that night). I was left to feel that I had over-reacted to the situation (incidentally a number of deaths have been contributed to similar situations). The owner offered me an upgrade to one of his other places higher up in the building to placate me - it never materialized. I had to go out of my way and re-arrange my schedule to accommodate the repair guy to get him in to fix the weatherstripping (it took 5 days of back and forth phone calls) - I got no thanks for it, and was again left to feel like I was an inconvenience.
To add insult to injury, the owner contacted me about when I would be leaving so that he could have a friend come in and stay in the condo. I left a day earlier than I had paid for as a result.
The condo was nice enough - but the attitude of the owner sucks (he has more than one place and obviously feels he can treat people badly). If you don't care about the attitude its an okay place - but if there is a problem, don't expect any help or compensation.
