Great place to stay in fall and winter too! The cozy gas fireplace and outdoor hot tub make this a great place to stay during the fall & winter months too! Many of the local wineries and bars/restaurants are open year round. You can also swim at the Geneva State Park Lodge in the fall & winter, $5 for a day pass. The Spire Institute is a short drive away, you can purchase day passes for the recreational pool and the fitness center.

I grew up in nearby Madison by Lake Erie and have always loved being at the Lake. My family and I spend a lot of time in Geneva-on-the-Lake during the summer, riding our jet ski's and hanging out with our friends at the beach.
April Lanning purchased this house in 1998
My husband and I bought this home in 1998 as a yr round rental home. We recently remodeled it and decided to turned it into a weekly rental. We like to stay in homes vs. hotels because you get so much more space and it's a lot more comfortable & fun while traveling with family and friends. GOTL didn't have a lot of great options so, we wanted to provide a nice place to stay, a place that feels like home.
We enjoy the quiet street a little bit away from the noise of the strip, yet we are able to walk to everything or ride bikes.
The Acorn Cottage is beautiful, clean and well equipped. Had an awesome time and will definitely rent this property in the future. Review posted on vacationhomerentals.com.
My boyfriend and I stayed here from February 12-February 15. We specifically decided to come to this cabin because of the hot tub (my boyfriend has lingering back issue that is on the mend and we thought that the hot tub would be good for that!). We live in the Cleveland area, but have never been to Geneva-on-the-Lake for an extended period of time. This house is in a great location, very clean and well appointed. We did bring extra paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex) and our personal items (shampoo, conditioner, soap etc). We loved being able to cook our own meals, especially since most of the places on the Strip are closed in the off season and it was was nice being able to explore on our own time with out having the summer crowds. We went to the Lakehouse Inn Winery, South River Winery and Debonne Vineyards (Cellar Rat's Brewery). The weather was a bit treacherous on Saturday so we stayed in, watched Netflix on the smart TV and enjoyed the hot tub. April is very easy to work with, which is an added bonus. I would highly recommend this place to others!
We arrived on Dec. 30, 2014 to bring in the new year with our brother and sister-in-law. The weather outside was quite chilly, but we were greeted by the pleasant sounds of music and a toasty, warm welcome. The cabin was very clean, the beds very comfortable, up-to-date kitchen utensils, and wi-fi Internet services. Particularly impressed with the Netflix, Amazon and Pandora services available on the TV. There was a nice selection of games and a comfy living room with fireplace, however, the house stayed nice and warm and we didn't need to put use the fireplace much at all. Loved the hot tub and enjoyed watching the snowfall while soaking on our last night. We definitely recommend this cabin to anyone considering the rental and we'll certainly look to stay again sometime in the future.
We enjoyed our stay at the house. It is beautiful decorated, two bathrooms, has a nice backyard, a campfire place, grill and hot tub. Beach is 10 minutes by car, playground just 5 minutes walk away.
It was a bit small but we did manage.. Unpleasent weather made for no place to sit outside to smoke.... We had to purchase a canopy to sit outdoors. Hot tub was enjoyable...
The cottage is beautiful. Location is on a quiet street close enough to all the downtown activities. We are looking forward to our next vacation and plan to stay in this lovely cottage again.
We are a short walk to the Geneva-On-The-Lake 'Strip' and all it has to offer. The 'Strip' is part of an old fashioned lakefront getaway. It is a one mile long entertainment strip along the coast of Lake Erie, with establishments dating back over 60 yrs and buildings dating back to the early 1900's. There is a new 1 3/4 mile hike/bike trail along the Lake Erie shoreline, from the Lodge to the State Park. The State park has public boats slips for your PWC's or boats. Short drive to area covered bridges, 20 nearby wineries, canoe or kayak the Grand River. One hour drive to the new Cleveland Horseshoe Casino.
