Designated as the official Latin Quarter by city of Miami in 1984, the area holds the 'Cultural Friday' festival the last friday of each month in Calle Ocho, as music fills the streets, drawing large, diverse crowds from 13 ave to 17 ave, which is lined with art galleries, cuban nostalgia stores, music venues and restaurants. Visitors and locals alike get to enjoy the folklore of an area which holds onto its Cuban identity despite the influx of many immigrants from Latin America.
It's like a lost Cuba where modern spaces coexist with the rich culture and folklore that make Little Havana unique. Many of the artists here were originally lured by the area's bohemian charm and location near downtown and Brickell.
