San Jose is in the heart of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata - Nijar and is one of the places with more daylight hours than anywhere else in the world. The spectacular volcanic scenery and deserted beaches have provided the settings for many films, such as Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones and most importantly, the spaghetti westerns such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Only a couple of hours from the ski resort of Sierra Nevada - ski in the morning, beach in the afternoon! Walking, cycling, bird-watching, scuba, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing - if you enjoy these activities but don't like crowds of tourists, come to San Jose.

Cabo de Gata: The Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata-Nijar is a most unusual area and San Jose is in the middle of what is thought to be a collapsed caldera or volcano (I'm sure there are some geologists out there with different opinions). This apartment is perfect for those who want to explore the deserted beaches, rugged scenery and the volcanic hills.

Spain's best kept secret?: This is NOT the area for those looking for sophistication, elegant evenings, or the full English breakfast. It is a unique, magical place for those who would like to visit a real Spanish costa, which has not been ruined by tourism.

The studio ist exactly like it is described: small, but lovely. It has everything you need on holiday (except a terrace, but you have a little french-type balcony).

I especially enjoyed the wonderful view which is exactly the one shown in the picture - really extraordinary!

The owner is very nice and helpful.

I recommend to rent a car if you stay longer than a few days. Anyhow, there a some very nice beaches near that you can reach by feet or by bike. In the village you find supermarkets, a tourist information and some good restaurants.
