This listed castle is in a prime position on the edge of Loch Long which leads out to sea, and has great views across the water, with hills and mountains providing a beautiful backdrop. Just 200 metres from a stunning beach, the castle has recently been redecorated and restored to its former glory and is perfect for a family holiday or celebration - as a special event or wedding venue, or for corporate entertaining. It can be rented on a self-catering or fully catered basis. This is the ideal place from which to explore the Argyll region - Loch Lomond with its outstanding views and abundance of wildlife is within striking distance and there is ample opportunity in the locality for fishing, golf and other outdoor pursuits and sporting activities. This area is well known for its outdoor activities – in particular sailing (both dinghies and yachts), windsurfing and canoeing, with Cove Sailing Club being a mere 100 yards away. The area offers abundant walks with several Munroes nearby, including The Cobbler, Ben Lomond, the Arrochar Alps and West Highlands, as well as the Trossachs. Loch Lomond, the largest stretch of fresh water in Britain is only 30 minutes away and provides panoramic views and a large variety of wildlife. The Loch Lomond Visitor Centre offers an excellent insight into the history of the loch, whilst visitors can take a boat trip. Great fishing and golf are also available. Nearby Helensburgh is a traditional seaside town and boasts Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House (NT), which is well worth a visit. In Stirling, visits can be made to the Old Town Jail, where tours are brought to life by actors, and where the glass lift can be taken to the prison roof to enjoy spectacular views across Stirling and the Forth.

  • The Tower bedroom is a self-contained suite in the castle tower with a double bedroom, separate sitting/dressing room and private bathroom. It also has outstanding loch views. The Apartment bedrooms are distributed over three floors, one bedroom on each. The ground floor also has a large living room with wooden floors and a day bed which can sleep an extra guest, great views, and Sky TV with the full package. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with great views over the water and an original tiled floor, plus a door leading to the outdoor seating area. The hosts make every effort to give visitors a traditional Scottish welcome, with details such as luxury bathrobes provided for use during the rental period, and fresh flowers in every room.

The main part of the house can be taken on its own or with the apartment – if both are let, the total accommodation extends to 22 adults and 5 children. The castle itself has 6 reception rooms, including an 800 sq ft ballroom, an exceptional feature. The 4 acres of private grounds include rolling lawns, parkland and pretty woodlands which are home to roe deer. Dining Room: Large dining table seating up to 22, open fire. This Castle surpassed our expectations!!!!! The home was beautiful. We were able to have our family and friends join us. There was plenty of space. The linens in every bedroom were top notch, with towels and robes for all. We could not have found better views. Every window looked out over the lochs. It was very easy to get to and from all site seeing venues on public transport. We love to enjoy again.
