Generously proportioned Victorian villa set in its own terraced gardens with stunning views out to sea and over a pretty and typical North Devonshire seaside town. Built in the late 19th century for an Admiral and his family, it was a well loved holiday home for many years. Today this detached property retains many period features although it has recently been subject to an extensive and sympathetic renovation programm. The house is within minutes of the local beach, and backs onto the south west coastal path, making it an ideal place from which to explore the beautiful surroundings. Nearest Beach: beach at 300.0 Metres
Ilfracombe has a wonderful natural harbour only a 15 min walk from the house. There you can join many boat trips to explore the coastline. The artist Damien Hirst, who lives nearby has a great restaurant overlooking the harbour – www.11thequay.co.uk. Beaches – The Cliff House has a privately owned beach just a 5 min walk from the house. In order to get to the secluded beach the Victorians tunnelled through the cliff. The current owners have fully restored the original tidal pool & built a wonderful new café along with a great kids play area. Watch the sunset from the bar Woolacombe beach, with its 3 miles of golden sand & world-renowned surf is just a 10 min drive away. Puttsborough & Croyde are about a 20 min drive. Woolacombe & our beach have just received the Blue Flag award for outstanding water cleanliness. Family days out – Exmoor Zoo (15min drive), Dinosaur wildlife park (15 min drive) The Big Sheep (1/2 hr). Ilfracombe has 2 cinemas and a theatre.

    Security deposit:We ask for a £1000 deposit to be paid by cheque 1 month before arrival. This will be cashed. On departure the house will be checked &, providing there is no serious damage, a cheque for the full amount will be returned to the guests.
    Linen & towels: All linen & towels are included in the price, just bring beach towels
    Energy costs: Included in the rental price
    End of stay cleaning: Included.
    Arrival time: from 4pm
    Departure time: 10.30am
    Pets: No pets allowed
    Smoking: No smoking in the property.
    It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
  • We can arrange full catering at the house (subject to availability), or we also have a great local shop which will cook any food you want to order – all using fresh local ingredients.
    The owners have a wealth of local knowledge & are on hand to assist with all the planning of your stay.
