Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This charmingly, restored holiday cottage is located in the San Pietro section of the island close to San Pietro church. It is centrally located midway between the beaches and the Bronze Age artifacts in Drauto and numerous shops and restaurants leading to the main port in the opposite direction. It is nestled in tranquility below the footpath away from the busy foot traffic. A lengthier walk past San Pietro towards town brings you to the wooded area of Ditella and finally to Calcara where one efforts is rewarded with an isolated, unspoiled beach perfect for packing a day’s picnic and exploring the more remote side of the island.

The cottage consists of two bedrooms (each room includes an additional sofabed), two bathrooms, air-conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious terrace for open air dining with great sea and island views. The property is about 50 meters above sea level and 1/2 kilometer from the port. Boat rentals and scuba equipment can be rented at port; lounge chairs and umbrella rentals are available at the main beach in Drauto.

The island has one main road shared by pedestrians and transport by golf cart vehicles. At night, the absence of street lighting allows a breath-taking views of the stars. On moonlight nights, the island is awash in magical lighting illuminating the whitewashed walls of the typical Aeolian style homes and the fragrance of flowers and fauna. The hewn, century old trails leading up the rugged mountainside provide views of the island and its surrounding sister islands. You can explore its wild beauty by carefully following the moutaintop trail from one end of the island to the other (proper shoe attire and drinking water a must). Spring and autumn offer a array of wild flowers and fresh fruit/produce. Summer brings the heat of the Mediterranean and revitalizing sparkling seas. August sees more in the way of tourism and late night life. Beach wear by day and lightweight casual in the evenings is the only attire needed.

A three night minimum stay is required.

I don't even know where to start. We were beyond pleased with this villa in Panarea. It was perfectly maintained and decorated to give us a perfect Panarea experience. The size, quality and comfort were all fantastic. The owners gave us customer service above and beyond what was expected or required. One of the family members that was on site also made sure to help us with local details and language challenges and she made the stay very special for us. They had fresh flowers and certain basic food items (oil, coffee, salt, pasta, bottled water) waiting and introduced us to local people and even gave us a tour of the town. We will dream of this place for a very long time. I will always be grateful for the beautiful experience they gave our family.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
