About Phil Maxson
We live in Tacoma, WA and use our cabin at least once per month year round. We named it Maxson's Dacha because we spent two and half years in Moscow, Russia, where we learned about Russian Dachas.
We have friends that have owned property at Lake Cushman for the last 15 years. We had gone up for the weekend several times and visited them at the lake. After the second time there we told our friends if they ever saw a cabin for sale to let us know. They did and now we have our own place to stay.
Phil Maxson purchased this cabin in 2007
Why Phil Maxson chose Lake Cushman
Located in desirable Division 3/Mt Rose Village & only a few blocks to the lake front Community Park facility & Boat Launch. Paved streets & security patrol for peace of mind in the best area of Lake Cushman.
This is not your typical “Vacation Rental” property, we have made it a home.
We love our little cabin and the Lake Cushman area.
We have put allot of work into making it an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay.
We don’t rent it out every weekend, we use it ourselves as much as possible, we are only trying to defer some of the cost of utilities by renting it out now and then.
Most of the people that use it are repeat visitors, we love that because they take care the place and love staying there as much as we do.
What makes this cabin unique
Fresh air, nice walks around the area.
Walking distance (half mile) to the Community Park and the lake.
Evenings sitting around the campfire behind the cabin.
Use of 3 kayaks as long as you have a way to get them down to the lake.
Only 5 miles from Staircase, at the Southeast end the Olympic National Park.
