Charming home at the top of Point Loma with spectacular view of downtown and the San Diego bay. Enjoy a glass of wine from the patio while the setting sun lights up the buildings downtown. This home is ideal for a family with younger children or for two couples.
You are five minutes from the beaches of Ocean Beach, two minutes to the yacht clubs on Shelter Island, ten minutes to downtown and the Gaslamp District heading east or Sea World and Pacific Beach heading north. Enjoy the restaurants of Point Loma which are only a few blocks away or Ocean Beach which are a few minutes away. If you like parks, Shelter Island, Sunset Cliffs and the Point Loma National Park are all less than 5 minutes away. If you have small children, there is a small children's park three blocks away.
If you like music, Humphrey's By The Bay outdoor concert venue is only 3 minutes away and has numerous acts throughout the summer. For those liking a more progressive music venue, Winston's in Ocean Beach is five minutes away. Of course, all the downtown venues such as 4th & B and the House of Blues are just fifteen minutes away.
For the sports minded, there are several free public tennis courts five blocks away. If you like to run, like I do, you can run out to the original Point Loma lighthouse past Rosecrans National Cemetery and the Naval Research facilities with spectacular views of all of southern San Diego, Mexico, the San Diego bay and the ocean.
I like to sail and Point Loma was the natural place to live for someone who works downtown and enjoys sailing. The heart of the sailing community in San Diego is Point Loma.
The view! I don't think I even looked at the house itself when I decided to buy it. I drove up to it at dusk. The sun was setting and the buildings downtown were glowing gold with the mountains behind. The scene was magical.
