A turreted, self-catering lodge built to resemble a small castle in a romantic setting at the edge of a large freshwater loch. The house was built recently and combines a feeling of 19thC extravagance with contemporary comforts and facilities. It is approached by a private driveway that takes visitors along the Loch, and is the perfect hideaway for those wishing to take in the magnificent scenery of the Grampian mountain region whilst living in style. The great thing about the lodge is that despite being so secluded and apparently remote, it is in fact very well connected to the rest of Scotland by road or rail, with several major towns within a 1hr drive. This beautiful lakeside property sleeps 8 and is perfect for families and groups of friends wishing to explore the highlands, combining peace and outdoor pursuits with accessibility. Nearest Train: Dalwhinnie at 2 Miles
Near to A9 road giving access to a number of local towns, including Perth, Inverness, Fort William and Grantown-On-Spey. Daily direct rail service from Kingussie to London Euston (Scotrail Sleeper). Helicopter landing facilities available for use by guests by prior arrangement. Fishing for brown trout is available if a local permit is arranged. Stalking and hunting for red roe deer can be organised on the estate surrounding the lodge, by prior arrangement and in the appropriate season. There is a nearby whisky distillery that is worth a visit. This is the area in which the UK television series “Monarch of the Glen” was filmed. Fans of the show may wish to travel to the neighbouring estate on which it was filmed. There are numerous golf courses within easy reach of the house.

    Security deposit: In some cases the owner requires a Good Housekeeping Deposit of £500 prior to the start of each holiday. This is returned to the hirer at the end of the stay less the cost of making good any damage or loss to the property for any extra cleaning (deemed beyond the normal levels expected) found necessary following the stay. This deposit is payable by cheque upon arrival at the Lodge.

  • If let self-catered, a daily maid is available by arrangement.     The kitchen has a large gas cooker and electric oven, table and chairs, a dishwasher and a utility area with washing machine and dryer. There are kennels for two dogs. Dogs are allowed on the ground floor of the lodge.

    Wines & Flowers can be ordered and delivered directly to the Lodge by prior arrangement.
