The combination of stunning scenery, numerous ancient sites and miles of beautiful beaches makes the South coast of Turkey one of the most popular destinations for discerning travelers. With its wonderful weather with average temperatures in summer of 30+C, in spring and autumn a balmy 24C, and even in winter the temperature rarely falls below 10C and often reaches 15C making this an all year round destination.
Things to do::
For the cultural amongst us - the ancient sites of Ephesus, Patara, Xanthos or the Lycian tombs of Dalyan with its ‘therapeutic’ mud baths offer hours of fascination.
For shear staggering natural scenery – the Saklikent Gorge or Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz are well worth a visit.
Even a visit to the extraordinary Pamukkale ‘Cotton Castle’ waterfall cascade a little further away is very rewarding
For the adventurous there’s paragliding from Olu Deniz’s fantastic Babadag Mountain or scuba diving off the coast virtually anywhere.
For pure fun why not try your hand at wind surfing, water skiing or parasailing. Or for the more relaxed amongst us why not try one of the many boat trips from Fethiye harbour, the 12 Islands cruise is one of my favourites, but you can also visit Rhodes on a day trip
One must-do trip is a visit to Fethiye’s Tuesday market – if you’re prepared to haggle you should come away with a bargain or two.

Easy access to local area and sites::
'Oyster Villa 8' is right by the beach and just a short walk from the many bars, shops and restaurants in Calis. The Dolmus station is next to the complex so there is easy access to all local towns and villages. The charming market town of Fethiye with its bustling harbour and excellent restaurants is 10 minutes drive or 15 minutes by Dolmus or water taxi.
Fethiye is set in a beautiful bay surrounded by the pine clad Taurus Montain range. This breathtaking scenery is now protected by the government and continues down the coast to the world famous Oludeniz Blue Lagoon, just 30 minutes away, where daredevil paragliders happily jump off the mountain and glide down to the warm sands.
For the more sedate among us the craft market there is a must.
