Keywords:

Known as 'Point O View' This unique residence sits at the Great Egg Harbour Inlet and Atlantic Ocean at the exclusive and prestigious Longport Point on the end of Absecon island. Steps to the protected life guard beach, the joy and convenience of a 30 second stroll to the beach and relaxing on the sand or sitting on your comfortable chair on the inlet rock pile while watching the force of nature with large waves battering the ancient rocks is a special delight, On the deck you can watch the occasional wedding ceremony on week ends or go down in person and be thouroughy entertained. Tourists and shutterbugs, come to the scenic area, and take pictures. This is all yours in a very diffferent style house with a great room full of fine art, stained glass and musical instruments .We sustained lower wave damage from Storm Sandy which would not affect the living area offered. This has been repaired. Currently, Longport is in the process of repairing the street in front of the house but that would not affect a rental since ample parking is int he rear of the house with alley/Lane access. We will glady show the house in advance of rental call Lady Grace Whitehead at 609-385-8104. She will be delighted to give you the tour.

What makes this house unique

You are entertained by the occasional weddings and festivities that occurr on the rocks and nearby beach. Day after day, Day after day; As idle as a painted ship...

  • 5 of 5

A spectacular ship with magnificent views anchored in the best shore town in SJ. This historic home truly has a view second to none. We lived on Sullivan's Island, SC across from Fort Sumter with wonderful vistas of Charleston harbour. This ocean/bay/sunset vista is every drop as glorious! The home is well appointed with a myriad of treasures for the art and music enthusiast. Saunter to the beach with ease and a perfect starting point for a bike ride. No need to leave, but a swift jaunt over to Somers Point/Ocean City, Margate or AC.

Hated to leave and will certainly be back!

The ultimate location just steps to the beach with amazing ocean and inlet views

  • 5 of 5

We always take 1-2 week summer vacation at the shore and we selected this home because of it's breathtaking views of the ocean and it's about a 30 second walk to the most exclusive beach this area has to offer. As another reviewer mentioned, you never need/want to leave the house except to go to the beach or grocery shopping. On rainy days you can find yourself reading and looking at the ocean from the grand living room or the covered deck outside. (Living room has huge windows that overlook the ocean) Open the window in that spectacular living room and feel the ocean breeze. You can do the same in the master bedroom - it was just amazing to fall asleep hearing the waves crashing on the jetty and feeling the ocean breeze. Quite relaxing as you can imagine. This neighborhood is quiet and exclusive and a perfect location for those seeking low key relaxing beach days.

We found the accommodations to be just perfect. Besides the unbelievable views there is a wonderful outdoor shower with stained glass roof. Even though the shower in the master bath was fantastic, we preferred the outdoor shower - there is just something magical about it!

We also had a chance to meet the owner who was most gracious. He walked us though and showed us everything and made sure at the beginning we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable as well as checking in during our stay to be sure there wasn't anything else we needed. This is a home the owner loves very much, and he is clearly excited for his guests to enjoy it as much as he does.

We live in Philadelphia, so our family came down for a couple days to enjoy the beach and everyone really enjoyed the house and the spectacular views and the exclusivity of the beach which was not at all crowded compared to Margate and Ventnor beaches.

Overall a great house and we would highly recommend it.

Excellent Venue to appreciate the Waves, the Sea Breezes, and Art of the Ages!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed the past 6 weeks in your delightful home. The views were awesome, the neighbors have been quite interesting, the museum quality of the house has been inspiring, the relaxation and sense of enjoyment has been ever so unique.

I hope the house is the better for us having spent such quality time within and outside its walls. Because of the unique location, thee was little reason to leave the premises. We bought food at Casels, Take Out at the Downbeach Deli and enjoyed every minute in the house (on rainy or windy days) or outside on the porches. Several meals at Ozzies were well worth being away for a short time, and the Longport Museum was delightful in having several references and pictures of the house in bygone days.

Best wishes for you, and your wonderful neighbors. It had been a pleasure that we will long remember and cherish.

Notes:
Deck furniture on the first floor deck and a down stairs front garage for storage of beach/bikes and inflatable water toys. There is an outside shower behind the house we love to use. Italian Tobacco sign at back door. ( 'Tobaccio, Riv 1) from near Naples. This can be lit at night and gives the home a Europen flavour. There is magnificent stained glass in the living room , along with a small stained glass dome in the ceiling modeled on The Christian Admiral Dome in Cape May and made by Bruce Hippel, a famous Cape May County Stained Glass Artist and a small plaque so notes. The sun passing through the dome during the day creates an amazing myriad of colours throughout.
