Massive hand-peeled beams shipped from British Columbia create the framework for this beautiful Adirondack Great Camp. Wake up to the peace and quiet of the woods that surround and the sunrises that stream in thru the large expanse of glass. A front deck off the great room and the attached covered porch make for wonderful gathering areas for cookouts, or to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets drop behind the Adirondack Mountains. The main floor is comprised of a custom kitchen with beautiful spruce cabinets and an 18' stone island which makes for an enjoyable meal preparation and gathering area, a dining room and great room with a large wood-burning fireplace under a massive cathedral ceiling and loft area. The main floor also includes one bedroom, the main bath with tub and shower, and a fully-applianced laundry/gear room. The loft area upstairs includes a large master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and bunk room (holding 4 twin beds). The lower level is comprised of two large bedrooms, a game room and large beverage bar. The floors throughout are toasty warm with radiant heat. The cabin is situated on 80 wooded acres with two ponds for fishing, wildlife galore and miles of trails for hiking, birdwatching, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. The trails lead north to Canada and south to Lake George. Located just 10 miles north of Lake George Village, 18 miles to the slopes of Gore and boating, fishing, kayaking or canoeing just a few miles in any direction, this delightful Adirondack cabin will provide privacy, seclusion and quiet times and yet all the outdoor activity anyone could hope for. Our family grew up here in the beautiful Adirondack Mts. My husband children and I built the cabin .Ten years from start to completion. My husband passed before we were able to finish it together. My children and family members helped finish the cabin and readied it for vacation rental. We love sharing the cabin, its building stories and all it has to offer.
Amy purchased this cabin in 2001
We love the beauty, peace and quiet. Yet Lake George, Saratoga and North Creek for all they have to offer are about a 30 minute drive or less.
We love to head out into the woods to look for wildlife, watch the beautiful birds, hunt for salamanders (and frogs!), watch the beavers build their homes or just pick berries for a pie for dinner. We love to explore on our four-wheelers in the summer or on our snowmobiles, snowshoes and x country skis in the winter. All the trails run behind the cabin on 80 acres.
This was our second trip to the cabin and it was just as amazing as our first!!! We came with a different group of people this time. It was a sibling and spouse getaway. Everyone fell in love with the cabin and the property it sits on. We went snow shoeing on the trails through the woods, it was breathtaking. Spent a lot of time in game room playing pool and enjoying the bar. The cabin is completely equipped with everything you could need. Amy the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The cabin feels like home!!! We will return!!!
Like most people I really enjoy when something meets my expectations. Heading into this trip I was expecting a traditional log cabin, on a private lot, with snow covered trees, and a nice wood fire. I'm happy to say Amy's cabin's blew away my expectations, which if you ask my wife is not easy to do. This cabin is simply AMAZING. The Northeast Canadian logs that construct the house are stunning. The living room, has 20 foot cathedral ceilings with some of the most comfortable furniture I have ever sat one. The fireplace area with stuffed game heads and a full size bear are perfect for the setting. The master bedroom sits atop the 2nd floor loft with views outside the windows of the living room. This was one of the BEST NIGHTS of SLEEP I have ever had. The home has radiant heat that comes up through the floors. I head nothing all night, so PEACEFUL. The KITCHEN is STATE OF THE ART. We cooked 3 full meals a day and the pantry had every piece of kitchen equipment that we could imagine. The Dining areas are masterful with picnic style tables and an Adirondack light fixture, it just screams Country. The basement has an amazing bar and pool table area. We brought our 2 year old son, and he had an unbelievable time. The house is equip with a ton of kids toys, games. Although my son spend hours just putting the balls in the pocket of the pool table.
The owner AMY is the best and is there to meet any special request. We had over a foot of snow on our first day, and she was there shoveling and snow plowing the property. Her son Gage was home from school because of the snow, and he was laying a helping hand with the shoveling. She is a very likeable owner and it is evident that she cares very much about this property. The place was spotless upon our arrival and you can tell that the owner takes great care of this property.
This is the perfect getaway for anyone looking for some R&R. I look forward to making a return trip in the winter of 2016.
I knew going in that the cabin was going to be pretty awesome based on the online photos and reviews from other renters, but we were completely blown away when we saw it in person! What a beautiful place!! Amy has done such a fabulous job making this home so cozy and truly one-of-a-kind! She was prompt to communicate with us throughout the entire process and to address any questions/concerns we had. She was also very quick to resolve a minor water issue we had during our stay and we were up and running in no time. We loved all the beautiful wood and stone work and all the rustic details throughout the cabin. Everything from the chairs, to the fixtures to the lamps and artwork screamed Adirondacks! We planned this trip as a family Christmas gift, so we were a pretty large group of 8 adults and 6 kids. But we all fit comfortably in the cabin and had ample space! The kids loved playing in the basement (Amy has plenty of books, toys and movies), while the adults enjoyed the drinks in the beautiful wood bar area and played pool. When we weren't hanging downstairs, we were enjoying the family room, with all the comfy furniture and huge fireplace! Amy had all the supplies we needed in the kitchen and we prepared most of our meals at home. The ride to town was an easy 10-15 minute drive for extra supplies. There was plenty of snow in the area, so we enjoyed some sledding outside the cabin and also at the local ski resort, West Mountain. The only minor drawback as mentioned in other reviews was the one bathroom, but with our large group of 14, we managed just fine. Just make sure to plan accordingly in the mornings/evenings. Another thing to note is that cell reception at cabin is limited (some in our group had no receptions and luckily, others were able to get reception on roaming) and there's no wifi, which in the case of an emergency can be problematic. But frankly, we enjoyed our "unplugged" weekend and didn't miss the internet/cable as much as we thought we might. We had such a wonderful stay and can't wait to return in the not too distant future, hopefully when it's a little warmed to enjoy the firepit underneath the stars!
Thanks again Amy for everything! We so enjoyed our time in your beautiful home!
We have been to Amy's cabin twice in two years. It is the perfect spot if you enjoy four wheeling. Lots of trails to keep you happy. The house is just what you would want in a log cabin. There's a great fireplace and a fire pit. It's comfy, clean and has plenty of atmosphere. The only fallback is the one bathroom. If you can handle that then this is a great place to stay. There is also a cable and wifi issue. I hear all this will be taken care of in the near future. We would definitely return.
We had a wonderful time over a long weekend at the cabin. Amy, you are a treasure! My son loved the woods and we all enjoyed the fire pit. Lake George is beautiful and the scenery was magnificent. We would absolutely love to come back!
My friends and I stayed for a long weekend. We had a great time at the outdoor fire pit telling stories and listening to the coyotes. We rented a boat on the lake and made dinner on the grill at the house. Lots of stuff to do in town and 4 or 5 fun little bars on the lake. Overall great weekend awesome house.
Thank you Amy
