Escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a romantic holiday in our villa. Hidden away from the road this piece of the Algarve exudes a sense of peace and tranquillity and yet it is only 5 minutes drive from the market town of Loule and Santa Barbara de Nexe and 20 minutes from the airport and beaches. The villa has been built on the elevated part of the site where the ruins of the original farmhouse once stood. In spring the surrounding grounds are covered with wild herbs and flowers which mingle with the vibrant colours of the tamed garden and the air is soft and filled with a heavenly scent.

Loule - an old market town a few minutes drive from the villa. Here you can find everything you are likely to need. The recently renovated old market hall is packed with fresh produce but get there early on a Saturday to avoid the crowds as this market is extremely popular and parking can be difficult. If you prefer supermarkets the town has an established supermarket and a second soon to be opened.. This is a historical town with its own castle and grounds dating back to the 12 century. Public facilities are excellent and inlcude tennis courts, olympic sized swimming and diving pools. There are plenty of place to dine out or have a coffee break. 20 minutes away you have your choice of beaches, golf courses and two large water parks. Spain is only 45 minutes drive along the highway.

Notes: Please note only the bedrooms have air-conditioning and the 'central heating' relates to underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. The layout of the villa makes it perfect for two couples or a family with two older children but is not recommended for children under six years unless supervision is guaranteed. In June 2009 wireless/broadband connection established, along with satelitte for British tv reception.

Swimming Pool: French doors from the living room open on to a terrace which overlooks the pool. A great place to sit down at the end of the day, enjoy a glass of wine and watch sun set over the valley. When it gets dark the pool and decking can be illuminated by remote control. This is a horizon pool (11.5 m by 5.5 m) where the water tumbles over into a lower pond on one side. The decked area also incorporates an outside shower.

Gardens: Outside the gardens are being developed into different pockets. Over the years we have planted and experimented with a variety of flowers, trees and shrubs.
