Sun-Drenched Bungalow, Walk to Downtown/Close to UVA!
This airy and window-filled bungalow combines the 1930s charm of its original construction with trim modern furnishings and amenities. Located in Charlottesville's Belmont neighborhood, a district established in the late Victorian period on the rolling slopes just southeast of the downtown.
This two-bedroom, one and a half bath home features a screened-in front porch for fresh-air breakfasts or long perusals of the Sunday paper. A spacious back deck and neatly tended garden provide a view of the Southwest Mountains, an off-shoot of the Blue Ridge. Central air and heat, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave.
The bungalow is within pleasant walking distance of the best of Charlottesville. 3 blocks away is the Belmont District, including popular favorites Tavola, MAS, The Local, and La Taza Coffee House, and other neighborhood highlights like Ashtanga Yoga Charlottesville and the weekly open-air farmer's market at Meade Park. A ten-minute walk reaches the downtown pedestrian mall, and UVA is less than two miles away. Coveted off-street parking allows for driving-distance adventures to the region's wineries, hiking, and historic sites.

My girlfriends and I just got back yesterday from staying in this absolutely charming cottage. It is immaculately clean, neat and tidy. We could not have asked for better accomodations. It was close to all the attractions we came to visit (Monticello, Montpelier, Ash-Lawn Highland and local wineries). One of the best parts was being able to walk to the downtown mall and have so many restaurants to choose from. We were very sad to leave this beautiful home. Don't pass up an opportunity to say at this fantastic rental. The owner is so easy to work with and she made everything comfortable and easy for our stay!
My girlfriends and I stayed at this charming bungalow for a getaway weekend in March, and we could not have asked for a more pleasant stay! We had horrible weather the entire weekend, and loved being able to sit on the screened porch to drink coffee in the mornings. We had a small break in the rain and were able to make the short walk downtown to enjoy a night out, and were also driving distance to a lovely winery and cidery. We loved the spacious bathroom and rooms, and also enjoyed the Keurig each morning! We cooked a delicious breakfast and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The owner was very kind and easy to work with and the check-in process was very simple. We will definitely be back in the fall for another visit!
We really enjoyed our stay in this Charlottesville bungalow. My wife and I brought our 1-year old to meet up with two of his cousins and their parents. The house was great for the kids - a large open living and dining room provided plenty of space for the crawlers to explore and the back yard was great for the older kid with a pond, beautiful flower beds and a sunny deck. We walked all over the neighborhood and to the downtown Mall, which is about 10 minutes away. We had most of our meals in "downtown" Belmont, which was just about a 3-minute walk away. The house was clean, bright, and well-furnished. We'll definitely consider staying here again!
We spent four nights in this beautiful cottage and it was everything we could have hoped for. It's in a great location and it had everything you would need. We had our two kids (ages 2 and 4) with us and it work great. The cottage wasn't overstuffed with stuff that we had to worry about our kids getting into things. When we come back to C-ville we will be looking this place up again.
Two couples that are ardent fans of the Oregon Ducks came to Charlottesville for the UO-UVA game on September 7. The bungalow was perfect for us in all respects: Clean, comfortable, well-equipped, tasteful, and well-situated with easy access to the UVA campus, the Downtown Mall, and our favorite watering hole (The Beer Run). We really enjoyed the walkability of the City, the hospitality of the residents, and the culture and rhythm of C-Ville. We also were knocked out by the behind-the-scenes tour we took at Monticello ... a vast improvement and deeper narrative than what we experience when we were last there 10-15 years ago. Net message: Charlottesville was a great trip for us and the bungalow enhanced the visit in ways a sterile hotel room simply could not.
My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights here sightseeing at Monticello, the Univ. of Va and Charlottesville. Everything was perfect. The house has comfortable beds, comfortable furnishings, and is completely stocked with everything you could ever need. There are high end touches in every room, we were delighted.
Additionally, it is located in the Belmont area, we were able to walk a couple of short blocks to nice restaurants. Monticello and UVa are both short drives with only a couple of turns. The owner was accommodating and helpful. If we ever return to Charlottesville, you can be assured we will try to rent this home again.
