OCEANFRONT BEACH HOUSE THE HEART OF MALIBU!

We stayed at this very cozy beach house for four nights for my wife's birthday. The description given here on VRBO is spot-on by the owners and everything has been remodeled from each of the two bathrooms through the appliances in the kitchen. The house was spotless on our arrival with even a nice welcome gift from the owners.

The house is directly on top of the beach (and the ocean) in Malibu. The surf is a constant companion in every way. If the sound of the surf brings you peace, this is the place for you. If you like some occasional beach/surf sound, this place might not be your best choice. The ocean in this part of Malibu is pretty significant and rolls in for a good deal of the day, with some notable surf sound. We had no problem sleeping with the sound, but extremely light sleepers might want to pack some foam earplugs.

We didn't cook dinner in the kitchen, but could have easily done so. There were ample, workable pans/pots around along with a new range/oven. We ate out at Moonshadows restaurant two nights and two other Malibu restaurants on the other nights. Moonshadows is about a minute and a half walk down the street (on same side of Pacific Coast Highway) as the home, a real convenience. We did use the coffee maker every day which had a goldtone/permanent filter and it worked well. We also used the nice toaster which has four-wide slots and it worked well. Side by side fridge/freezer was brand new condition, spotless with an ice-maker/water in the door.

Bathrooms are totally redone with new fixtures and tile. Water pressure for the shower in the master bedroom large jacuzzi-style tub was a bit lower than expected but usable. Amply supplied with six hand towels and six large bath towels in each bathroom. Working, good hair dryer in cabinet in master bathroom. Be sure to bring shampoo/conditioner/soap supplies for your stay.

Six good condition beach towels by the balcony. Two very nice lounge chairs on the deck with cushions. Nice table with four chairs and cushions on deck off of kitchen. Fireplace is a great feature, gas with sand/stone base, lit easily, nice warmth. Ample sitting areas with two areas for lounge seating. Nice dining table with comfy chairs exactly as shown in photos.

Joseph and Natalie were great to deal with. Quick responses to emails with clear, concise answers/instructions. Only caveat for home is nothing that owners control being that ocean rolls in over the beach for a good deal of the day in that stretch of Malibu.
