Our house is situated just under an hour from Eurotunnel, and about 30 minutes from Le Touquet. We are down a quiet lane and the house and garden are completely secluded, apart from the cows in the field next to us. Our nearest neighbours are about 100 metres away. We are in between two hamlets, Avesnes and Herly.
We have three bedrooms, all upstairs, one with a double bed, two with two singles, with the possibility of an additional single in the breakfast room.
There is a large bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, this room also contains a washing machine. The separate toilet is located next door. These are all on the ground floor.

The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, oven, fridgefreezer, dishwasher & microwave,
There is a choice of two dining areas; one we use for breakfast, this room also has a CD player/Radio
The other is more formal as a dining room and the dining table seats 8 This room has a wood burning stove
We have an open fire in the lounge, with electric radiators throughout.

My wife (Yvonne) and I live in North East London. We are real francophiles having holidayed all over France for many years. Our other interests include: Reading, Films, Good Food, Art, History, Walking and Sport.
We decided several years ago that we would like to own a house in France to get away from our busy day to day lives. We wanted a place that was easy to get to, suitable for short or long breaks. The Pas de Calais area fits the bill. We can be at the house from home in the UK inside 3 hours including crossing.
Living in London we were also looking for peace and quiet, but with good local amenities.
We spent 18 months viewing properties before finding the right place. The house is secluded with barely any passing traffic. So you can relax in peace. It was basically a shell when we first bought it, so we have been able to decorate to our taste. The house is large with spacious rooms allowing relaxation in comfort.
The terraces outside allow you to follow or avoid the sun in good weather.
The large garden allows a variety of activities including above ground pool. This can be used but only at users own risk.
Our house is situated just under an hour from Eurotunnel, and about 30 minutes from Le Touquet. Nearby the small fortified town of Montreuil, is about 10 minutes drive away. There are many shops and good restaurants here, and a lovely walk all the way round the ramparts which surround Montreuil.
The nearest village is Hucquelier, 5 minutes drive away. This has: Supermarket, Garage, Bar/Restaurant, Bank, Bar/Tabac Boulongerie and Garden Centre (Which sells firewood).
There are really great beaches and water parks both at Le Touquet, and the Picardy coast, plus a theme park for the older kids at Berck, on the coast. For small children, there is another theme park called ‘Dennlys’, about twenty minutes away in the countryside towards St Omer.
If you are interested in history, there is the V2 museum and bunker near St Omer, the Azincourt museum, and the first world war memorials between the towns of Arras and Amiens, all within an hour from the house.
For keen golfers, our house is well within an hours drive from some very good courses, including Le Touquet, Hardelot, Fort Mahon, and St Omer.
Other Activities: microlite flying, small plane tours, canoeing, go karting, and local markets.
