Overview

Pioneer Trail House Rental Photos and Description

Beautiful private setting, Views, Hot Tub, Cabin, 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, Sleeps 2-

If privacy and setting are the qualities you are searching for in your next getaway, then look no further. From the moment you step through the front door, you will feel that you have arrived to your mountain home away from home. Muskwaki Pines is located in one of South Shore Lake Tahoe’s best kept secret neighborhoods.

Conveniently tucked off of Pioneer Trail, this quiet area fronts the Upper Truckee River and meadow, which is a ten minute walk from the house. The home’s peaceful setting has meadow, forest and mountain views. There is open space surrounding the property with both forest and meadow. Even though it is just fifteen minutes in any direction to Lake Tahoe’s attractions, you may not want to leave. Do not be surprised to see bears, coyotes, and even an occasional raccoon cruising the area.

Because this home has been the owners' primary residence for over twenty years, it is very well stocked with everything you will need to make this your home away from home. The interior is furnished with unique antiques, comfy lodge furniture and Tahoe themed artworks. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking essentials. All the basic food stuffs and dry goods will be conveniently available so that you can spend more of your vacation time on vacation. The BBQ on the deck is always ready as it is hard-wired natural gas. No propane tanks to fill.

The home has 3 bedrooms with King pillow-top beds in two of the bedrooms and two twin beds in the third bedroom, and two bathrooms. No one will be left without hot water due to the tankless hot water heater. Conveniently, a fully stocked laundry room is off the kitchen. For those who must take their work with them, there is high speed wifi internet, some office supplies, and an all-in-one printer/FAX/scanner/copier.

Lots of windows invite the outdoors in. Enjoy your privacy on the deck. Take in the fabulous sunsets while soaking in the four-person hot tub. Or just curl up in front of the fire and watch a good movie on the big screen Smart TV.

Our furry guests can romp in the fenced yard area with access from the deck. But that still leaves plenty of open grassy area to set up a game of croquet or bocce ball, or build snowmen in the wintertime. Or even set up a tent for the kids that want to go 'camping'.

About Sue or Neal

Lake Tahoe is a special place. We have lived in Tahoe for over 30 years. Once you plant you feet you never want to leave. Max and Riley, our dogs, love to go to the Upper Truckee River and splash in the water. As scuba divers, we have explored all around the shores of the lake. As boaters, we enjoy our outings in the summer and fall on the big blue.

Sue or Neal purchased this house in 1984

Why Sue or Neal chose Pioneer Trail

This area is one of South Lake Tahoe's best kept secrets of a neighborhood. It is off the beaten path with open space and fewer homes than most areas.

What makes this house unique

Private setting, Fresh Mountain Air, tall pines and a beautiful lake. The river and flower studded meadow is a short walk from the front door. Wildlife cruises right through the property.

Excellent Vacation Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Me, my two brothers, and dog stayed here for a long birthday weekend, and it was perfect. Very cozy, 10 minute drive from South Lake, and in a beautiful setting. The house itself is older, but the heater and wood burning furnace kept it warm and made it feel very homey. The bathrooms are newer and the showers are hot. The back two bedrooms are down the hall with large beds (one with a connecting bathroom), and the third is just off of the living room with two twin beds. The living room is comfortable with two couches (WiFi and dish TV work great) and opens up to a beautiful view of the backyard. There is no house immediately to the left of or directly behind, so the deck area and hot tub are very private. The fenced area is plenty of space for the dog or little ones to run around and play in plain sight. The meadow (which is massive!) and river that are displayed in the posting are even better in person, and truly a short 5 minute walk away. The owners are extremely responsive and accommodating, and we will definitely be back. All in all, an excellent vacation setup.

Owner's Response: Those endless hot showers are thanks to the recently installed tankless hot water heater.

Great Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed in this cute home recently and we had a great time. It's situated in a quiet area in walking distance to fun trails along the Upper Trucker River and is only a 10 minute drive to Stateline. It has a fenced yard area that my dog enjoyed, as well as a lovely spa on the back deck. The house itself is comfortable and homey with a wall of windows that overlook the back of the property. We booked the trip at the last minute and the owner (Sue) was very accommodating to us. We will be back!

Awesome weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect to spend the weekend with a group of friends.

The property is maintained and well located. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room has a nice setup.

I absolutely loved their hot tub! It's a 10 star experience, haha.

I've been to many different houses in Tahoe, and I think the hot tub in this property way superior compared to what you generally find out there (very modern and spacious).

I would definitely come back!

We had so much fun at their house! My dog loved running around the yard! The hot tub was great to come home to after snowboarding a skiing and the fireplace was great as well. It was about 15 min to heavenly village and 15 min the the resort. $30 cab ride to stateline. We will definitely be back!

Great, down to earth family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Situated in a very quiet, secluded neighborhood near Lake Tahoe airport, Muskwaki Pines was a perfect setting for our family of five. With three girls under the age of six - we wanted a spot with room to run, minimal traffic and a house that was nice, but not "too nice" where we would be afraid to live in it. The property managed to hit the mark on all fronts. Three comfortable bedrooms including side by side twin beds were perfect for our twins. The large side yard with little hill was perfect for some easy sledding following a night of snow. The wood burning stove was a great touch and of course the hot tub was a nice escape - especially on one 5 degree night!

The owners were very responsive and interested in our comfort. They sent over someone right away to fix the garbage disposal after a previous guest decided that bottle caps were garbage and therefore should be thrown in.

Overall, I think it was great value for the price and especially good for families with small children. Close enough to town, great access to Sierra-at-Tahoe and no disturbances from the airport. Would stay again in the future for sure.

Great home, comfy, felt like being in our own home

  • 5 of 5

The property provided all the amenities one could expect plus more. The owners were a pleasant to deal with and provided great communication. The home itself was a great location, cozy, great yard for the dogs, awesome jacuzzi, beds were fantastic, could not say enough good things. We hope to come back very soon.
