PRIVATE MEADOW & FOREST SETTING, HOT TUB, PERFECT TAHOE GETAWAY!!

Pioneer Trail House Rental Photos and Description

Beautiful private setting, Views, Hot Tub, Cabin, 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, Sleeps 2-

If privacy and setting are the qualities you are searching for in your next getaway, then look no further. From the moment you step through the front door, you will feel that you have arrived to your mountain home away from home. Muskwaki Pines is located in one of South Shore Lake Tahoe’s best kept secret neighborhoods.

Conveniently tucked off of Pioneer Trail, this quiet area fronts the Upper Truckee River and meadow, which is a ten minute walk from the house. The home’s peaceful setting has meadow, forest and mountain views. There is open space surrounding the property with both forest and meadow. Even though it is just fifteen minutes in any direction to Lake Tahoe’s attractions, you may not want to leave. Do not be surprised to see bears, coyotes, and even an occasional raccoon cruising the area.

Because this home has been the owners' primary residence for over twenty years, it is very well stocked with everything you will need to make this your home away from home. The interior is furnished with unique antiques, comfy lodge furniture and Tahoe themed artworks. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking essentials. All the basic food stuffs and dry goods will be conveniently available so that you can spend more of your vacation time on vacation. The BBQ on the deck is always ready as it is hard-wired natural gas. No propane tanks to fill.

The home has 3 bedrooms with King pillow-top beds in two of the bedrooms and two twin beds in the third bedroom, and two bathrooms. No one will be left without hot water due to the tankless hot water heater. Conveniently, a fully stocked laundry room is off the kitchen. For those who must take their work with them, there is high speed wifi internet, some office supplies, and an all-in-one printer/FAX/scanner/copier.

Lots of windows invite the outdoors in. Enjoy your privacy on the deck. Take in the fabulous sunsets while soaking in the four-person hot tub. Or just curl up in front of the fire and watch a good movie on the big screen Smart TV.

Our furry guests can romp in the fenced yard area with access from the deck. But that still leaves plenty of open grassy area to set up a game of croquet or bocce ball, or build snowmen in the wintertime. Or even set up a tent for the kids that want to go 'camping'.

Lake Tahoe is a special place. We have lived in Tahoe for over 30 years. Once you plant you feet you never want to leave. Max and Riley, our dogs, love to go to the Upper Truckee River and splash in the water. As scuba divers, we have explored all around the shores of the lake. As boaters, we enjoy our outings in the summer and fall on the big blue.

Sue or Neal purchased this house in 1984

This area is one of South Lake Tahoe's best kept secrets of a neighborhood. It is off the beaten path with open space and fewer homes than most areas.

Private setting, Fresh Mountain Air, tall pines and a beautiful lake. The river and flower studded meadow is a short walk from the front door. Wildlife cruises right through the property.

Excellent Vacation Cabin

  • 5 of 5
Me, my two brothers, and dog stayed here for a long birthday weekend, and it was perfect. Very cozy, 10 minute drive from South Lake, and in a beautiful setting. The house itself is older, but the heater and wood burning furnace kept it warm and made it feel very homey. The bathrooms are newer and the showers are hot. The back two bedrooms are down the hall with large beds (one with a connecting bathroom), and the third is just off of the living room with two twin beds. The living room is comfortable with two couches (WiFi and dish TV work great) and opens up to a beautiful view of the backyard. There is no house immediately to the left of or directly behind, so the deck area and hot tub are very private. The fenced area is plenty of space for the dog or little ones to run around and play in plain sight. The meadow (which is massive!) and river that are displayed in the posting are even better in person, and truly a short 5 minute walk away. The owners are extremely responsive and accommodating, and we will definitely be back. All in all, an excellent vacation setup.

Owner's Response: Those endless hot showers are thanks to the recently installed tankless hot water heater.

Weekend Away

  • 4 of 5
We arrived late thursday night and directions and access into the cabin was spot on. The owners were quick to respond to give access to the new wifi, which was very helpful as we had a bit of work to do on Friday. It was close to Emerald Bay (but where we are from, everything is "20 minutes") so the drive wasn't an issue. I was up for the Trans Tahoe Relay, so it was a bit far for that, but so worth it to see the dogs enjoy the river and running around the in yard. The hot tub was a perfect end to the swim I did. The house was clean and comfortable and we'd definitely stay again.

How Tahoe should be!

  • 5 of 5
Sue and Neal allowed us to stay in their vaca home while we purchased a new home. The house is near the trucker river and is only a short walk to some spectacular views. The neighborhood is quiet and has excellent BBQ area. The little back area has lots of small trees which gives privacy and the purple wild flowers were nice. This is how Tahoe should be visited without the conjestion and noise of down town.

A great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
My family and 2 dogs stayed at this house and had a great time. The house is very clean and the yard was great for the dogs. We relaxed in the hot tub at night and went into town that was a very short drive during the day. The owners were very nice and responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Spot

  • 5 of 5
I stayed here with my husband, two children, my sister and her daughter and we had a wonderful time. The house is a perfect base for exploring Lake Tahoe and has everything you need and more. The BBQ and hot tub were perfect for in the evening after a day on the Lake and the master bed is possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and I wanted to take it home! The owners could not have been more helpful with information about the house and local area. I highly recommend this house and would return. My only note is that the 3rd bedroom is very small as are the beds but it is fine for small children.
