Lifetime Experience

Authentic Tuscan Villa in serene setting. Tastefully decorated with old world charm. Great central location to explore Tuscany and surrounding areas. Villa was beyond expectations in very private setting. Views of vineyards and mountains were endless. Hilltop pool was perfect spot to chill and view the wonderful setting while planning the next day adventure. Nine days at this Villa and never once bored. Surrounding small towns and vineyards provide good food and wine experiences. Excellent support staff at the end of road were very helpful. Convenient to market about 6 kilometers away. Outdoor fireplace with grill adds to cooking experience.

Did not want to leave

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at La Chiusa in Chianti the last week of April 2014. We picked this location because it is really central to all of the wine regions in Tuscany. The location is perfect; we spent each day visiting the nearby wineries/hill towns of Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Cortona, and the Chianti region.
The villa is amazing - the pictures on the website, although great, really do not do the property justice. The villa is beautiful, comfortable, and very private, surrounded by a vineyard on one side and an olive grove on the other. The kitchen is also one of the best equipped rental property kitchens I have seen – we made pasta from scratch almost nightly to have with the wine we collected from our adventures. We are already planning a return trip in 2015. Thanks again Michael for your hospitality.

What a beautiful home this is......and it is really a home...not just a normal rental. Very comfortable and Michael ads extra perks such a big thick terry robes, wonderful artesian soaps, house wine....vegetable garden,..... tons of wood for the outdoor fireplace, which we enjoyed every single night.....hanging racks for washed clothes, ......very comfortable furniture, ....... two precious cats who appeared in the morning and at night and sat outside with us purring away......beautiful, well placed landscaping. It was also very nice to have our very own concierge, offering solicited suggestions as to where, when, why and how. Thank you so much Michael for making this such a special trip. Would love to come back .

Amazing villa with ideal Tuscan setting

  • 5 of 5
Michael's gorgeous farmhouse exceeded all our expectations in terms of the comfort of the villa, high-end amenities, the setting, and convenience/proximity to top notch restaurants, vineyards, and sightseeing highlights of Tuscany. The rooms were comfortable, well-furnished, and spotlessly clean. The newly added pool was a big plus as well on hot days with panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and a relaxing hammock closeby in the olive grove. We loved taking walks in the vineyards, and having breakfast and dinner on the terrace, sometimes with the two resident cats Nero and Caramello. Michael was very generous with us, providing the estate wine, olive oil, and delicious tomato preserves. He also gave us free access to his herb garden and bicycles. Villa A Sesta is a picturesque village down the road which had lovely restaurants, including the Michelin rated La Bottega del 30. The village was packed every night with people who drive long distances to eat at these restaurants. We enjoyed being in the Chianti region and loved wine tasting in the area, including the local Villa a Sesta wine, Castello di Brolio (where chianti was invented), the hill towns of Montalcino (famous for Brunello) and Montepulciano (where we fortuitously stumbled upon the elaborate medieval festival of the Bravio delle Botti). We were also close to many Tuscan highlights (such as Florence and Siena) and near enough to Umbria to visit Assisi which was absolutely lovely and surprisingly empty for an August afternoon. Michael, thank you for being such a gracious host. We wish we could have stayed longer and will come back again - hopefully soon!

Beautiful villa in a ideal location

  • 5 of 5
Just returned from a week staying with friends (total of 6 of us) in Michael's villa. Really it was perfect.

The villa was clean & tidy and surpassed our already high expectation from the photos.

Michael really makes the effort to make you feel welcome while still managing to leave you alone to your privacy. Small gestures really helped such as access to the vegetable garden (delicious tomatoes) to following up our first day conversation with an email giving us extra specific details and suggestions.

Plus the house wine and oil were delicious.

What An Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5
If you want to experience Tuscany in total privacy, in an absolutely gorgeous custom home with every amenity, in the midst of rolling hills covered in vineyards and olive orchards, then this is the perfect place to go.

We stayed here for 5 days with our two teenage daughters, and we loved it. You can walk about 10 minutes, or ride bikes (there are two at the house) to a handful of fabulous restaurants (one is Michelin starred if you're into splurging) or you can go wine-tasting, hiking (there's an ancient Roman road behind the house that'll take you up into the hills) or just lounge by the pool and look out over the landscape - which is more classic than any painting of Tuscany you'll ever see.

Michael, the owner, is awesome and very attentive. He makes his own olive oil from the orchard on the property, which he shares with guests. You can pick herbs from his garden for your meal, and there's a stock of table wine from the vineyard next door. You can also drive about 10 minutes to a supermarket and stock up on whatever you want to cook in the awesome kitchen.

The outdoor patio is amazing. We ate most meals on the large stone table under the wisteria surrounded by the smell of jasmine. Ahh...

Highly recommended!
