The perfect holiday house for romantic couples who like lots of extra space, or for friends and family groups wanting beautiful accomodation in a beautiful location. This lovingly restored 'pueblo' house provides a charming and comfortable homebase from which to explore the surrounding areas. The large main living room has original beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors with stylish Italian leather furniture. Leading into the large dining room with beams, pine table and six chairs and 'snug' area with soft sofa, armchairs and efficient wood burning stove for winter warmth. Fully equipped kitchen with window to Andalucian patio which leads onto the large raised terrace with table and chairs for six - part shaded by bamboo makes this ideal for outside dining or relaxing in the sun. Upstairs the three double bedrooms all have vaulted ceilings and antique brass beds and the luxurious wetroom has a designer range of white porcelain and a thermostatically controlled rain shower.

Our comfortable house is perfectly located for exploring the local white villages, surrounding mountains, lakes and forest or to just lounge on the large terrace and enjoy gorgeous views of the local olive groves and magnificent mountains. Stroll down to the local village shops, bars and restaurants and take in the atmosphere of peace and tranquility of this friendly old Spanish village. The beautiful city of Ronda is only a short drive away where you can sample a more bustling, cosmopolitan lifestyle of tapas bars, pavement cafes, stylish restaurants and excellent value for money shopping. There are three local swimming pools nearby for cooling off on hot days, all have bar restaurants and picnic areas. And if you feel the need to keep in contact with the outside world free broadband is available in the village.

Breakfast with Vultures!

Just back from a wonderful week at your characterful house. As others have noted a very pretty & friendly village (never hola'd so many strangers before in my life!). Every day we watched Griffon Vultures soaring over the mountains from the terrace; counted over 30 of them once. At night there were loads of bats & according to a resident English couple we bumped into there are 4 species of Eagle, including Golden, amongst all the plentyful bird life. Evidently spring is a fantastic bird-watching time as there are many birds on migration there. Our only suggestion for improvement would be some more lounging about -type seating on the terrace for those post walking, vulture spotting afternoons! We would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a touch of genuine Spain; it really is friendly & you can get everything you need in the village so you don't need to be using the car all the time if you don't want to. We found parking at the top end of the road easiest without driving through the village; it's easy but hard to explain. The best way is to walk up to the end of road past all the hens & dogs, turn right & keep going on the concrete road 'til you see where it comes out. It's a pleasant walk any way & not more than about 20 minutes or so. We were sorry to leave. Thanks Fiona & Ray for buying it for us!

Everything I expected and more...

Traveling to the Andalucia area in Spain was everything I imagined and more. We were delighted to see that the pictures shown of the area were even more beautiful in person. The village was very friendly, especially the local restaurants La Reja and Palacete De Manara. Great hiking and outstanding views. It was great to visit larger towns like Ronda, and come back to quietness of Montejaque. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful holiday - a great balance between relaxing by the pool in Benaojan and exploring the surrounding countryside and towns. My Stay in Montejaque

Having lived in Spain for several years, and having spent a lot of time in Andalucia, our stay at Fiona's house in Montejaque just reminded me of all the reasons why I love Spain. Montejaque is a classic "pueblo blanco" of about 1,000 very friendly people. The house itself is a classic two-storey Andalucian town house, with spectacular views from the terrace to the surrounding mountains. If you like the idea of having coffee and tostadas while looking out on an olive grove, listening to the distant clanging of bells from the lines of goats picking their way along the mountain trails; if you like the idea of having great food cooked for you at reasonable prices in the local restaurants; if you like the idea of walking through some of the best scenery in the Spanish sierras, then Montejaque is the place for you.
