Lovely home away from home

This was our second visit to Debs and Tony's house. The location is beautifully peaceful and the house has everything we needed. We loved the bike rides round the local lanes hardly ever seeing a car. The market in St Jean is lovely and zoodysee is worth a visit but go late afternoon if you want to see the otters. But most of all we loved relaxing around the house, there was loads for the children to do and the pools as enjoyed by all. Hope we can come back some day.

Peaceful location, perfect house.

This was our second holiday at La Maison Fontaine. Again, we had a great time, and the house seemed even more fabulous than before, if that is at all possible! The large garden and pool area provide plenty of opportunities to relax, or for more strenuous activities such and badminton or boules. We also enjoy the walk on the quiet lanes to Nere. This time we ventured further afield to Saintes (Roman remains - fascinating) and to the seaside resort of Royan (try the ice cream!). However, most of the time we spent in L'Epinoux making the occasional visit to the supermarket at Aulnay for supplies for the barbecue. We also visited the market there on Sunday morning...cherries, apricots and salad items, the quality and taste of which you can only dream of finding in UK - yum!

Once again thanks to Deb for everything, she is the perfect host. In fact we enjoyed it so much we have already booked our next stay ... for 2 weeks this time!

Highly recommended property

We visited recently as a family of six, including two children under three, and we could not have been happier throughout the week. The farmhouse was well equipped, comfortable and beautiful in all respects. Debbie was a fantastic host, extremely helpful and friendly. She gave us advice regarding places to visit and we particularly enjoyed the aquarium in La Rochelle as well as our trip to the small zoo nearby. The pool was a big hit with the whole family as were the grounds and our morning walks around the village. We had a fabulous week and we hope to visit again in the future.

Wonerful house - we didn't want to leave

What an amazing property, more often than not when you are searching for a holiday property the pictures look great, but the reality is not always the same. Well, La Maison Fontaine exceeded our expectations on all levels. It is a wonderful clean home lovingly looked after by Debs and Tony, it has everything you could possibly want, a home away from home. The gardens and pool were amazing and the big and little children loved every minute of this holiday. Lazy days around the pool, being able to relax in the peaceful gardens, kids running around laughing and playing, bikes supplied by Debs and Tony for those in our group that wanted to explore this beautiful rural area. The house is in a perfect location close enough to a lovely village which also has an amazing Bistro, Bar St Pierre, we spent many an evening there, Russell and Michelle were lovely and the food was amazing. Debs was always on hand if we needed her, but never intrusive, the perfect host. We loved every minute of this holiday and did not want to leave, we would all whole heartidly recommend this property to anyone, we cannot fault it at all. It was a pleasure to meet Debs and Tony, and you can rest assured that they will look after you. If you do decide to venture out for the day, then we would recommend La Rochelle, a beautiful place to visit and the children loved the Aquarium, also the beach at Royan was lovely, we visited Futuroscope, but sadly we were left disappointed, but I suppose it depends on what you like. Many thanks once again to Debs and Tony for making our holiday so special and giving us so many happy memories.

Fantastic property

What a great property which certainly lived up to and exceeded our expectations. Debs is a great host who has obviously taken great care and attention over renting out her property. The house was very clean and well maintained. We loved the space at the property and the rural location is fabulous. The fields of sunflowers are amazing. The children (16, 8 & 6) all had a great time, especially in the pool. We visited plenty of places while we were there - St Jean D'Angelay, Cognac, Saintes and La Rochelle being the favourites. Definitely would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit this area. Thanks Debs and Tony.

Fantastic week :)

This was a great property, exactly as shown on the wonderful pictures on the website. Travelling as a group of two families, we wanted space, a pool and cheap wine... There was ample room for our children to run around, no feeling of being cramped...the four bedrooms are laid it along the top of the house and the pool was a winner and on hot days, we didn't even need to move from the house. given that we wanted relaxation as well as the possibility to do a couple of longer trips, we had a great time.

I can heartily recommend Debs and her Farmhouse, it was incredibly clean, well looked after and equipped with several thoughtful touches... Including a pétanque pitch (if that's what you call them) Debs was the perfect owner, cleaning the pool every other day without being obtrusive and giving us tips on where to find the local under 2 euros per litre drinkable wine.
