A picture perfect chateau on a hill overlooking the famous medieval town of Chinon and within walking distance of one of the best known small towns in France. Boasting 7 bedrooms, newly refurbished cloakrooms and bathrooms, a large games room with table tennis, private swimming pool and all within a private estate of 10 acres, this chateau is hard to beat. Complete with parkland, a walled vegetable garden, and woodland to explore, along with a climbing area and a mini wood for children. Dating back to the end of the 18th century, it was originally owned by a cavalry officer. This chateau has extensively been refurbished in the last couple of years. This classic French chateau has all the features you would expect to see, parquet flooring, marble fireplaces, grand rooms with impressive cornicing and ceiling roses. Chateau Lapriere is situated on a hill looking out over the breathtaking views of the Loire valley and the ancient castle in Chinon. It is said that some of the small villages around Chinon produce some of the best wines in the Loire. Only a 30 minute drive away you will find the Cadre Noir which is the French equivalent of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and is famous for being one of the most prestigious horsemanship schools in the world. Whilst visiting the cobbled streets of the local town it is a must to visit to the historical castle at Chinon where Charles VII ordered Joan of Arc to go against the British. There are picnics to be enjoyed by the river, bike rides to be taken through the countryside and if you are feeling energetic you can canoe to Candes St. Martin and cycle back along the riverbank. For a real treat one has to visit the world famous gardens of Villandry which are simply out of this world, made up of 3 levels of the most exquisitely manicured gardens.

Notes: The jewel of Chateau Lapriere is the impressive view of the magnificent Chinon castle which sits centrally to the chateau, and is shared by all the principle rooms. This classic French chateau has all the features you would expect to see, parquet flooring, marble fireplaces, grand rooms with impressive cornicing and ceiling roses. As you walk around the chateau you will notice that there are classic furniture pieces which marry modern lifestyles with the tradition of the chateau. The cloakrooms and bathrooms have been recently renovated in a contemporary style. The great feature of the park is the scores of specimen trees. The drive is lined by 100-foot high chestnuts; paths runs beneath tall limes; the red cedars turn the most beautiful colour in autumn. The landscaped flower gardens surround the chateau. The vegetable garden is walled on two sides and contains a small stone nineteenth-century hen house.
