Yalikavak is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery of the Bodrum Peninsula. The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect resort for t hose who want to experience the real Turkey, providing simple, authentic local life at low prices. Home to fishermen and sponge divers and a haven for yachts, the small habour is lined with traditional Turkish restaurants. The charming village square i s a popular meeting place with its many authentic coffee houses and its here along one of the cobbled streets where you can do a spot of shopping. There are lovely beaches and bays that have beautiful safe clear waters. There are many shops in the traffic free centre and every week the town hosts one of the biggest fruit, vegetable and clothing markets on the Bodrum peninsular. The traffic free sea front walk way which stretches from the secluded beaches at the north end of the bay right though the village to the new marina at the south side of the bay is wonderful for families and couples.
