The Moose Lodge is a 4 Bedroom Luxury Home with 2 Bedroom Guest House plus 3 Full and 2 Half Bathrooms in the Main House and 1 Full Bathroom in the Guest House located in Wilson, WY

Tucked away on a private road Moose Lodge is the perfect combination of rustic and contemporary décor inspired by nature’s palette that brings the outside in. Surrounded by throngs of Aspens and Pine with ample outdoor space conveniently located just before the town of Wilson. Moose Lodge is the perfect Jackson Hole Getaway; comforting and spacious with attention to detail. Moose Lodge presents welcoming earth tones amongst beautifully appointed taxidermy, western accents and art in every room.

The front door of Moose Lodge opens onto dark slate radiant heat floors with 30-foot tall ceilings and grand staircase. Overhead a beautiful elk antler chandelier and in front of you immense lodge pole pine pillars the frame the living space with floor to ceiling windows allowing natural light to seep in and highlight the granite, wood and metal finishing throughout the space.

Living Room

Pass the foyer entrance and settle in under elevated ceilings on over stuffed couches. Enjoy the warmth of the custom stone gas fireplace while considering the epic beauty of the Jackson Hole Valley. Peer out of the floor to ceiling windows into the beautiful grove of trees over the naturally formed pond. Access the back deck with lots of space to roam, outdoor fire pit and hot tub. Don’t be surprised if you see a Moose grazing amongst the trees. A beautiful granite passé plat seats 3 for breakfast or lunch and allows separation and conversation with the kitchen.

Powder Room

Just off the living room is a 2-piece powder room with natural accents and vessel style sink.

Kitchen

Professional appliances, beautiful hickory cabinets and custom granite countertops make this spacious kitchen a cook’s dream. Built for beauty and functionality the kitchen is fully stocked and offers ample storage space. Offering double convection ovens, warming draw, industrial refrigeration system, double sink and two dishwashers. A beautiful matching granite and hickory island equipped with a 6 star gas range, sink and overhead pot rack finishes off this exquisitely functional space.

Dining Space

The handcrafted dining table seats 8 below a Moose chandelier and surrounded by trout mounts and natural accents. The Butlers pantry matches the beautiful granite countertops and hickory cabinetry of the kitchen and allows for flawless meal time.

Guest Bedroom

Down the hallway you will find a beautifully appointed room with king bed atop an elevated lodge pole pine frame with nightstands on either side. Handsomely decorated with Native American Artifacts, Rocking Chair, Dresser and Exquisite Native American Chief Painting.

Guest Bathroom

A 3 Piece Guest Bathroom with beautiful walk in shower and rainfall showerhead located kiddie corner to the guest bedroom. Light colored slate tiling throughout the bathroom and shower with an artistic iron framed mirror and natural accents.

Laundry Room

High Efficiency Washer and Dryer with cupboards and folding space located at the end of the hall passed the Guest Bathroom.

Upstairs

Follow the grand staircase up to the “floating second level walkway” with a reading nook and bookshelves. Look down into the living room or straight ahead through the windows and you can almost see the tops of the trees outside. To the right is the entertainment room and to the left 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms

Entertainment Room

This Handsome Room is Fully Equipped with Ping Pong table, custom Pool Table and Foosball table. A flat screen TV, dry bar and comfortable couches make this the perfect room for an evening in or game night for children and adults alike. This entertainingly decorated room hosts mounted birds, antiques, real bear rug and balcony overlooking pond and trees. A 2-piece powder room rounds off this space as the ultimate hang out room.

Guest Bedroom #2

Follow the hall off the stairs to the left and find a guest bedroom decorated with Western Charm. This room offers a king size bed, sitting bench, 2 night stands and a large window facing the front side of the house. Ample closet space, natural lighting and plush carpet finish handsomely decorated room.

Guest Bathroom (Shared)

Shared between the above bedroom and the below bedroom. Light colored travertine with a large walk in glass enclosed shower with rainfall showerhead. Unique tiling in the shower and matching travertine vanity add to this 3 piece bathroom.

Guest Bedroom #3

Accessible from the hallway or from the shared bathroom this guest bedroom is spacious with natural light and walk in closet. A Lodge Pole Pine Four Poster King Size bed sits under vaulted ceilings. Nightstands on either side of the bed and a dresser give additional storage space in this room.

Master Bedroom with Ensuite Bathroom

This master features beautiful Mahogany Antique furniture. Large windows let natural light into this room and a balcony overlooks the outdoor living space and pond. The beautiful antiques sit atop plush carpet and are from the early 1900’s. The set feature a baby crib, sewing table, sitting vanity and full size bedframe. The ensuite 3-piece bathroom features a mix of travertine and cultured tile. The large glass enclosed shower features a rainfall shower head and custom tiling with radiant heat flooring.

Outdoor Living Space

With multiple access points to the outdoor living space the transition between inside and outside is flawless. A six person hot tub sits to the right of the living room deck. The outdoor living space has multiple areas for dining, entertaining, playing, and telling stories around the fire pit. A naturally formed pond sits at the edge of the landscaped outdoor space. Pass the naturally formed pond are large trees where moose regularly graze.

Guest House

Walk out of the front doors and to the right above the 4 Car Garage is the Guest House. A perfect distance away from the main house, the guest house is perfect for older children or grandparents to allow a bit of privacy. With 2 additional bedrooms, and additional bathroom, living room, dining for 6 and beautiful kitchen with breakfast bar. Decorated in warm western decor with charming natural accents the guest house reflects the main house.

Upon entering the guest house you will find yourself in the mudroom with seating, coat hooks and an entrance into the garage.

Upstairs

Take the stairs up to find the open concept living room and dining area with seating for six. The living room offers comfortable seating, a large deck and a flat screen TV.

Kitchen

Pass the living room you will find the kitchen with high end appliances, granite countertops and wood cabinets. Enjoy a meal at the breakfast bar with seats for 3.

Bathroom

Continue down the hallway and find the shared bathroom on the left with beautiful travertine floors, double vanity and glass enclosed shower

Guest Bedroom

Pass the bathroom and find the guest bedroom on the left with lodge pole pine bunk beds.

Master Bedroom

Across the hallway from the guest bedroom find the master bedroom. The master bedroom offers western accents and a queen bed. A large wrap deck is accessible from the master and guest bedroom.

The name Moose Lodge speaks for itself. During our one month-long stay at this secluded home, we were able to watch moose feed in the front yard. We had the opportunity to take many photographs. One day there might be a lone bull, and on another you might see an entire moose family.



The home is situated within an exclusive, low density private development bordering the west bank of the Snake River. The home is close to the community of Wilson. Wilson has a great restaurant serving a legendary country breakfast, and down the street is a fun cowboy bar for "western swing" dancing. The location of the home is a welcome escape from the crowds in Jackson, a short 7 minutes away.



We found the home to be tastefully decorated, with plenty of space for private time to catch up reading a favorite book. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comforably appointed, but not over the top.The kitchen was incredible and fully stocked with every kitchen appliance and cooking utensil imaginable. If we weren't cooking in the kitchen, we were outside using the gas grill. After dinner we would retire to the outdoor fire pit for drink and conversation.



There is a game room upstairs for some friendly heated competition on the pingpong, foosball or pool tables. The room has a lot of football memorabilia on the walls. The owners are John Elway fans.



As a fly fisher, I was able to walk to the Snake River, and be fishing within about 10 minutes. I caught a number of small cutthroats, mostly on dry flies.



I could go on and on about this property, but you get the point. I would give this VRBO an A+ rating.

Clean and comfortable but not what I expected

This property made a good base for exploring Jackson and the Tetons. It was comfortable for two adults, though I think it would be a tight squeeze for four. I enjoyed my week here, even though the accommodations turned out to be something other than what I expected at time of booking. Be very careful as to what "separate guesthouse" means. It's a garage apartment. None of the property photos reveal this. An exterior shot of the whole structure would be very helpful to people considering where to stay. Also be careful as to what "secluded" and "private" mean. Curiously, there are no curtains or blinds over most of the living room, which receives direct sight lines from the main house; don't expect total privacy in the living room. Also, don't try to relax on the rear deck between 4 and 6 PM as the sounds of traffic on the busy state highway a few hundred feet away can be quite intrusive. Also, you may be disappointed in what is described in the listing as a short walk to the Snake River. The short trail through this wooded neighborhood to the river is no longer available; any walk to the river would include a dangerous half mile+ walk along the shoulder of the busy state highway. When I expressed these concerns to the property management company the main response was to change the subject, to remind me that I had been staying at a multi-million dollar property.

Owner's Response: We have transitioned the home to be the whole property that is rented so that there are no further situations like this. You are correct that the access to the river requires a walk along the highway but on a positive note a wonderful bike and walking path has been built and now the walk is safe and beautiful.

A friend and I stayed for 10 nights and it was wonderful! We were participants in an art event in Grand Teton NP and just coming "home" to this wonderful, quiet retreat was a welcome break! Will definitely try and stay again next year as our group of artists are invited back to the Park again next year!! Thanks so much!

Excellent guest house, very welcoming owners!

Our family of four just finished a two week stay and would recommend it highly to anyone.

The location is perfect. Set in a private area surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping done by the owners, it was always nice to return to after outings. Especially when the owners two dogs greet you like your part of the family (no worries the dogs are very friendly). About 10 minutes to Jackson and 1 minute to Wilson, we found it just right for anything we wanted to do. Don't be surprised to see moose on the property! Highway 390 to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (10-15 mins.) and then into Grand Teton National Park (25mins. open in summer) is just outside the main entrance.

The house itself is very nice and very comfortable. Top notch construction and finishing and you feel as if the place is brand new. Nice kitchen space and bar area that won't disappoint. The bathroom is very nice as well with two sinks and a very nice shower enclosure. The master has a queen size bed and my wife and I, both being over 6' tall, found it very comfortable. Our two daughters 15 and 13 and 6 footers as well, found the bunk bed in the other bedroom fit them just fine. Both bedrooms have excellent closet space for all of your things. The bedrooms open onto the rear deck with plenty of chairs for relaxing. There is also a full size front deck off the living area where you may relax as well and cook on the grill as we did many times.

Go to the bagel shop in Wilson for fresh bagels in the morning (they make them right there) then sit outside by Fish Creek while you eat. Want a bigger breakfast, Nora's Fish Creek Inn, also in Wilson is the place. Get there early or stand in line (not long). Just get in line and when your at the front someone will ask "how many?" and away you go, they don't take down names. There's also a post office in Wilson, nice for sending post cards. A small bank with a 24hr ATM is there as well.

Don't skip the drive over Teton pass into Idaho and the towns of Victor and Driggs. Victor: Huckleberry milkshakes at the emporium, plus plenty of small places to eat. Driggs: resturants as well, go out to the airport and eat at the cafe. No kidding, nice setting and good food.

Don't skip a stop by the visitors center on highway 89 heading north out of Jackson, very friendly, very helpful. Just up the road from there is The National Wildlife Art Museum. People pass this by, DON'T!

It's a great surprise and well worth the time. Great house! You'll have a great time.

A MUST stay in the Jackson Hole area !

A wonderful guesthouse located in a private retreat with native flora and fauna views and access to a river trail and the remarkable local amenities. The central location is convenient to the Teton Music festival, Teton Village activities, downtown Jackson and Wilson as well as the local bike trail. It is the perfect size for a couple or small family with all the comforts of home and gracious hosts.
