The only place I would stay in Jim Thorpe.

Where do I begin. . . well I'll start by saying we were really lucky (thanks to a cancelation) to experience Jim Thorpe surrounded by the romantic ammentities of the VanPelt House. I made a lot of calls to alot of places before coming up with this little gem. Located on a hill overlooking Broadway
we were able to park the car free on sight and was only a 4 - 5 minute walk to all the action in town.
You are literally in a 2-story 1800's house of your own with everything you need with a fully appointed kitchen, private back deck overlooking the town, and a cottage feel throughout the house. The owner
got us started with great suggestions for visiting "certain" restaurants, the old jail, the Asa Packer mansion tour, best pubs, opera house gigs, and was just an all around sweetheart. Since I am a professional pianist, she also helped me sort out where I could find my instrument. I don't think we could have picked a better time than fall folliage weekends to go. Though we love beaches, palm trees
and sunny resorts, this was truly one of coolest weekend experiences my wife and I have ever had.
