Sa Caseta is a Catalan Farm cottage set in the stunning 'Pla de Belleses'(beautiful plain). Peaceful and secluded, it has uninterrupted views out over fields to the hills of the Gavarres. Full of rustic charm and character, with mellow stone work and original old beams and tiles, but with all modern conveniences including Wifi. It has its own private garden with dip pool, patio for sunbathing and al fresco dining, and stone built barbeque. It is ideal for families with children, the garden being enclosed, and also makes a perfect romantic setting for honeymooners, away from the crowds. Sleeps 4, 1 double bedroom and a twin room. The cottage is only 5 minutes by car to the nearest small town of La Bisbal with shops, bars and restaurants, and 20 minutes from the beautiful coast of the Costa Brava. 40 mins from Girona airport (ryanair) 10 minute walk to the local village of Casavells where bread is still baked in a wood burning oven.

Sa Caseta is situated just outside the old village of Casavells where bread is still baked daily in a wood burning oven. 10 minutes away is the market town of La Bisbal d'Empordà, capital of the Baix Empordà (one of the richest areas of Catalunya), famous for its ceramics. Close by are the Roman ruins at Ullestret, and many other historic medieval villages. The Gala Dalí museum in La Pera is 10 minutes away, the Dalí museum in Figueres-30 mins. Girona - capital of the province, with its Roman and Arabic history which can be seen in the old part of the city, also has a modern side, with great shopping, restaurants and night clubs- a 30 min. drive. The most beautiful of all the Costa Brava beaches, Aigua Blava, Calella de Palafrugell, Llfranc are 20minutes by car-small sandy bays with rocky headlands, pine trees and clean water. Perfect for children swimming, diving, sailing etc. Barcelona is 90 mins by car or train (nearest train station is 15mins - hourly service to Barcelona).

Payment to be made by bank transfer , bank charges covered by the renter. Languages English and Spanish.
  • Easter period - €950 per week, Spring Bank week €-1000. Available for weekend lets - prices available on request.

Notes: The dip pool is 3x2m and 1m deep, and floodlit. Linen is provided: bed linen, bath towels and tea towels, but not beach/swimming towels. There is a weekly linen change if your stay is longer than 1 week. The owners ,who live nearby, take care of the pool and garden, and the proper functioning of the house. They are on hand for any help or advice, and a baby sitting service is available.

Travel: Sa Caseta is situated on the edge of the villages of Casavells and Corca, 3Km from La Bisbal d'Empordá. It is In land from the coast directly between Palamos and Girona and about equidistant from them both (25km).It is a one and a half hour drive north of Barcelona and a 45 minute drive to the French border. 40 minutes from Girona airport (Ryan air).Car hire available at the airport. Ryanair flights from Blackpool, Bournemouth, Doncaster , East Midlands, Liverpool, Luton, Stanstead in the UK and many other European cities. Barcelona airport-90mins by car or train- scheduled services and Easy Jet flights from the UK. TRAINS- nearest station Flaca, (10 Kms), with hourly connections to Barcelona and regular service into France. MOTORWAY- A7 runs to Barcelona and to the french border (45mins). Nearest junction 25Kms.

Activities: The Islas Medas, off the coast of Estartit, Is a marine sanctuary and well known diving area. There are several local diving schools. The local hills of the Gavarres are well known for mountain biking and hiking. The Costa Brava has been voted one of the best emerging golf destinations world wide, with 11 courses within an hours drive of the cottage,4 of which are the best in Spain.
