Bodrum area Vacation Rental apartment: Gumusluk

We had a great time here in July. tThe owner was very helpful and informative (and more importantly honest) and responded to our very many queries. Everything they say on the website and subsequently told us was true. This is the first time we had been to Turkey and the first time we have gone through Holiday Rentals so we were a bit apprehensive. The directions from the airport were brilliant - our flight was delayed and we ended up arriving there in the middle of the night but found it very easily. The apartment was immaculate, equipped with everything you could need and the views were simply breathtaking! We spent many hours on the terrace just watching the scenery and the sunsets. The pool was quite simply awesome! A few minutes walk away from the apartment on the other side of the complex (which meant that the apartment was lovely and peaceful), it again had stunning views and is enormous. It was totally pristine at all hours of the day and night. Our 2 children (14 and 11)spent hours in there. Some other facilities are apparently planned for the site (very new still and not all sold which meant we had the pool to ourselves most of the time!) but we were more than happy with a great, well equipped apartment and fab pool. The owner recommended a car and it was needed to get around the area as the peninsular is very hilly. There was plenty of information about the area in the apartment. Gumusluk harbour and restaurants were great and the nearby towns were easily reached and made good places to visit and shop. Bodrum Castle was only half an hour away and very enjoyable. Lots of local shops for daily essentials and good supermarkets in the main towns. There is a built in barbecue on the terrace which we used a few times and it was very good. All the meals we had in restaurants were very good value and excellent quality. Huge portions too. Limon Cafe on the way to Gumusluk was particularly lovely as it is set outside with tables and sofas scattered on the hillside! All the local people we met were very friendly and all spoke very good English. The weather in July was superb - mid 30s up to low 40's. A great first trip to Turkey. Amanda, Stephen & Girls
