During the spring and summer you can ride horses and go ATVing! We have a pen setup for horses. There are lots of dirt roads to ride on and you are only a short 1 mile ride away from the Boise National Forest.
This is a gorgeous secluded cabin in the middle of a forest of Ponderosa Pines. Right on the edge of the Boise National forest it provides for peaceful relaxation. Bring your ATVs and horses! There are hundreds of miles for you to ride! If you like peaceful hikes and mountain biking, this is your place!
This property is also perfect for those who like to snowmobile! It is gorgeous in the winter and a great opportunity to spend a quiet weekend with family doing some snowmobiling! The snow is deep and the cabin is at 4800 ft elevation, so the snow accumulates early and the powder stays into the spring! I hooked a sled up to my snowmobile and pulled the kids up and down the roads, and they had a blast! The snow plow turns around right in front of my driveway, so you will have great access year-round to bring your sleds up!
If you have Verizon, your cell phone will work at the cabin and gets enough signal to use the internet. The area only has a handful of cabins within 5 miles and only 1 neighbor within a mile who only comes up a few times a year. We have a small horse pen that will hold 2 horses on site.
There is an area to target shoot up to a 100 yards.
We have a kennel for a dog(s) as well as a couple of dog beds. We have enough beds to comfortably sleep 7 people. It has a wash and dryer as well. We are easy to work with. Any questions, just give me a call!

I work in technology and I am an outdoorsman and hunter. This cabin is a great deer hunting location and is in an Idaho Youth Hunt area.
I love riding horses. Especially up at this cabin. There are horse only trails right out your front door with no worries about motorized vehicles.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
The quiet secluded area. Most of the time, you are the only one within 10 miles. :) Its only a 20 min drive to Crouch or Horseshoe Bend for dining, golfing etc.
The peace and quiet as well as the clean fresh smell of the Ponderosa pine forest all around you. I am able to get cell phone reception with Verizon and even 3G internet, so I can stay in touch while getting away from it all.
I love letting the dogs run around. They seem to love it even more than me. :)
We really enjoyed the cabin it is in a great location and very convenient. Thank you for working with us to make it affordable we may be interested in renting it again over Labor Day weekend we will let you know.
Thanks for everything
Troy was super responsive from our initial contact with him to book our stay through our questions at departure about subsequent dates that the cabin might be available. The cabin itself is well built and quiet, with comfortable beds and couches, well stocked with every implement needed for cooking and eating!! The presence of a washer and dryer, and the provided detergent, etc. were most convenient. Troy provided us with a number of options in terms of hiking trails. The two we went on were great. The scenery was outstanding, and both included streams that allowed our dogs to drink along the way. My only disappointment was that our stay was not long enough to enjoy everything. We'll be back.
This is probably the best find we could have hoped to find on VRBO. Seriously. My girlfriend and I were looking to get away for a while, some peaceful, affordable, quiet place in the mountains to unwind, cook, talk, rest and play in the snow.
We got all that and a kick-ass landlord to boot. Stand-out points were:
The cabin's interior made us feel welcome from the get-go.
A whole lot of firewood for our heating needs.
Well-equipped kitchen (even the knives were sharp!).
Solace (a couple of days in a row, we were the only people we saw all day).
Thoughtful provisions by the owner (extra heater, snowshoes, water etc).
... and lots more.
But what really made us fall in love with the place was Troy, the owner. While we were up there, it was pretty cold and snowy. Not a problem, we found the place after some looking around and got comfy. A couple of days into our stay, however, some of the water pipes kept freezing up. Troy came up to the cabin personally a few times to fix the problems we were having and extended our stay by two days as compensation!
Going here over winter break was without a doubt the best decision we could have made.
We wanted a quiet, secluded and comfortable cabin to get away for a few days with our dogs and this was perfect! It was easy to get to with great directions and details provided by the owner. There was plenty of room to hike the area, and we took a nice ride on the roads in the rain as well. The cabin with wood stove was very cozy and peaceful. We'd highly recommend!!
I really enjoyed my time at this cabin. The surrounding forest was beautiful and tranquil. I brought my horse, mule, and dog and had a wonderful time riding on trails adjacent to the cabin and the nearby State and Forest Service lands. My stay there was pleasant, I would definitely recommend staying there.
We are in a nice secluded area with room to target shoot. There is even an area where you can shoot your rifle at 100 yards to sight it in.
