The venue for many wonderful family holidays, our villa is only 300 metres from a long sandy beach, an easy walk through the dunes or down the wooden walkways. Set on its own land this self-catering summer holiday rental is ideal for a group of friends or two families where one can get together in the large lounge or relax in a hammock slung among the pine trees. The large patio, ideal for outdoor meals or soaking up the sun, is sheltered by the L shaped building, assuring maximum privacy. Just a couple of miles from the bustling town of Esposende with its fortnightly market, large supermarkets and restaurants yet rural enough to hear the pine cones cracking in the sun or watch the squirrels at play.

Nearest Train: Ppovoa de Varzim at 25 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: A28 Esposende junction at 5 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 300 Metres

The property is very well located for sight seeing with many quaint market towns within easy reach. Definitely worth a visit is Barcelos, home of the biggest market in the north of Portugal, all day Thursday. The ecclesiastical city of Braga, Guimarães the ancient capital of Portugal, Ponte de Lima with its Roman bridge and of course, Porto with its World Heritage old town and the Port Wine lodges to name just a few. There are also many archaeological remains in the area, Roman bridges and Romanesque churches. For those who prefer river bathing, there are several river beaches on the Neiva River, with waterfalls and lots of disused water mills. The national park of Serra de Arga above Viana is well worth a visit and slightly further afield is the Peneda-Geres national park. Coimbra and the Roman city of Conimbriga although somewhat further make a possible day trip as does Spanish Galicia.

Ideal Villa in Esposende

We found the owners to be very helpful and friendly, with instructions to be easy to follow and correct.
The discription was spot on.
The Villa was like a home and one felt relaxed straight away. it was clean and tidy.
The local shop and cafe was a five minute walk, with larger shops an the main town a short drive,. The beach only a couple of minute walk over the dunes.
The situation for the North of Portugal was ideal for touring by car, with main roads close to hand.
One slight down side was the plumbing in the shower room. However I am sure the owners will have put this right by now, as they were concerned about it whilst we were there.
On the whole I would certainly recommend this property for those with young family, who want the beach and some life in the evening in the town. Also for a quiet restful time just lazing about, or a base for getting about Northern Portugal.
Owner's Response: Many thanks P H for your honest review of the property. We agree that the shower room does need attention and have already got the work in hand to improve the plumbing, in fact the whole shower room is being updated and renewed.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. As you say there is something to appeal to all ages: the beach for children, nightlife nearby for the energetic and peace and quiet for those who wish to unwind. Plenty of sightseeing in the area too and many watersports on offer. We hope you will return someday to enjoy the bathroom renovation.
