Photos and Description of the Calvados vacation chateau / country house rental Sleeps 33, self catering, indoor pool, rural location.

Traditional late 19thC Normandy château accommodating up to 20 guests in the chateau, 9 in the coach house and a further 4 in the pavillon. Guests have full use of the grounds, including the snooker room with full size table, large covered indoor garden with table tennis, dining or party area, and fish pond stocked with Koi Carp. You have use of the owner's private indoor heated pool which is equipped with full child security measures (closed between October 15th and April 1st. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No bottles or glasses to be taken by the poolside). The chateau overlooks the village and has great views. The property is set in its own private gardens of approx. 2 acres, ideal for large groups of friends or families.

Regional information: We are situated in the middle of what is purported to be some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, with plenty of scope for cycling, walking and picnics. The whole region is full of sites to see such as the towns of Coutances, Saint Lo, Granville, Bayeux, full of formal gardens, museums, parks, châteaux and stunning scenery. The area is famous for its seafood cuisine, cider, cheese and calvados. Rennes and le Mont-St Michel are only one hour away, whilst Paris can be reached in three hours. Locally: Ten minutes walk down the hill is the small town of Canisy, offering local shops, bar, bakers, garage, haidressers, butchers. - Activities nearby include canoeing on the very beautiful river Vire. There are several golf courses within the region, while the fantastic beaches of Normandy with their miles of white sand are just half an hours drive away, as are the D-Day landing beaches. Tennis, horse-riding & cycling are also popular local sports.

    - Security deposit: €1000. This is paid one month before arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
    - Linen & towels: Bedding can be hired for €14 per bed and €7 per person for towel sets. This must be booked and paid for in advance.
    - Energy costs: Prices are inclusive of gas and central heating fuel:
    Low Season:

    Mid Season:

  • - Pets: No pets allowed.
    - Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the houses.
    - Swimming pool: Closed between October 15th and April 1st. All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No bottles or glasses to be taken by the poolside.
    - Snooker room: No unaccompanied children under 14 yrs. are to enter the Snooker Room. Snooker cues, rests, extensions etc. provided in the Snooker Room must be replaced in their appropriate racks at the end of each session. The Snooker Room door must be kept closed at all times. No smoking, drinking or eating over the snooker table. This room is restricted to snooker players only.
  • Catering: There is a good local caterer that is often available, for further information please speak with the owner once your booking has been confirmed.
