Well located 1 bedroom apartment with city view glimpses, in the famous Top of The Town building in Sydney's Darlinghurst. Superbly positioned mid-way between the cafes and boutiques of Potts Point and the bars and restaurants of Oxford Street, with all the nightlife of Kings Cross at your doorstep. This security building has a 24 hour concierge, gym, sauna and a pool with views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

This comfortable unit (approx 660 square feet or 61 square metres) has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, internal laundry, cable TV, DVD player and wifi. It also has a sofa bed in the lounge room for additional guests. The unit is tastefully decorated with historical images of Sydney and mementos from our own travels. It is the perfect location from which to explore Sydney, as many landmarks are within walking distance of the apartment. Rail transport to other major attractions, including the airport, is closeby, with Kings Cross station only 200 metres away. Coles supermarket is 150m away.

Fantastic!

Excellent value for money. The flat is located in a lively area, bars, restaurants, shops are within 5 mins walk. Sydney Harbour can be reached in 25 mins on foot. The flat has got everything a family could need for a short stay plus it is really pleasant and tasteful. You can count on Stephen and Tony if you need anything. I recommend this address to everyone.

Great location in a lively neighbourhood!

We stayed at Top of the Town for nine nights in September. The location is excellent with public transportation via bus or train within close walking distance--just a few subway stations to CBD. There are a variety of shops on the street, including the large Coles grocery store which has an abundance of choice. The neighbourhood is alive with young people and lots of different bars and restaurants from which to choose.

The apartment is located in a very secure building with a concierge on-site. There is a small gym and pool available. The unit itself is not large but well arranged with comfortable furnishings, including a sofabed. There is a large TV monitor with plenty of channels to select. The wifi is reliable and fast. The kitchen equipment is in good working order and there is sufficient kitchenware for eating in and preparing simple meals. There are plenty of condiments and sundry supplies which are very welcomed when travelling, along with the ensuite laundry facilities. The washroom has a generous shower and good water pressure.

The bedroom is a good size, with plenty of storage and good lighting for reading. Having an accordion door allows guests to close off the bedroom and still continue to enjoy the living room space.

Our hosts, Toni and Stephen, were very prompt in responding to our reservation request, as well as in providing an excellent information package regarding the unit, instructions for the various equipment, and suggestions for attractions and local restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment to others looking for a comfortable accommodation in a very central location.

Of note is that there was ongoing construction nearby. Best to check with the hosts regarding the status of current construction during work hours if that is a concern.

Great flat in great location

My adult daughter and I stayed in Stephen and Toni's flat for five nights. The location is very convenient to the metro, and we found we could easily get everywhere we needed to go - for example, 20 minutes to the Sydney Opera House. The neighbourhood is safe, interesting and offers many excellent restaurants and great shopping along nearby Oxford St. The apartment itself is clean, spacious and comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen as much as we thought we would, as the restaurants were too tempting, but it is fully equipped. Having a washer and dryer was also very handy. We had an evening flight out of Sydney, and were able to store our bags with the concierge after check-out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great condo in Sydney

We spent 5 nights at The Top of the Town and found it to be a convenient location to exploring Sydney. You do have quite a walk to the Harbor, The Rocks and several parks, but Sydney is large.

The condo is in the King's Cross area and the subway is a block away. Coles Supermarket is across the street and has everything you need for dining in. We found the area safe.

The condo building is secure and has a concierge 24 hrs/day. Always very courteous and helpful. The condo was just the right size for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings were in very good shape. Never figured out how to use the oven, but Stephen, the owner, who lives in the building, was very responsive when I couldn't figure out the cooktop and how to work the balcony louvers. It is very quiet when the balcony doors are closed- a great feature in a major city. Stephen did mention they plan to renovate by removing the louver panels and installing soundproof glass. That would give you a great view of downtown Sydney. They are also planning to add black out drapes which would help late sleepers.

Would definitely recommend this condo. If you have the time, explore some of the neighborhoods around the area. Very eclectic and the parks are a great respite. Stephen and Toni recommended restaurants in the area and were great to work with through the entire process.

Great Kings Cross apartment

We stayed here for 4 nights after a cruise that ended in Sydney and enjoyed it very much. This apartment was well equipped with everything you could need. Nice furnishings that were comfortable to sit on inside but the chairs on the patio were a bit wobbly. Large unit. We had 3 adults in the unit and had plenty of room. We cooked in every night to save money and the only kitchen item lacking was an ice cream scoop. Owners were very responsive to questions before and after we booked the unit. Location was convenient to trains and buses, grocery store was just down the block and there were plenty of cafes to choose from nearby if you wanted to eat out. Reasons I am not giving 5 stars are, there was a lot of traffic noise if you opened the balcony door for fresh air, so we kept it closed and the air conditioning on. The bathroom floor tile grout looked in need of a good scrubbing, but other than that the unit was very clean, and would have liked to have a couple of suitcase stands to put our luggage on. I would highly recommend the unit to anyone visiting Sydney.
