Sonoma House Rental Photos and Description
Villa, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Welcome to Villa Juliana, our Palladian Villa at the southern tip of the Valley of the Moon -- surrounded by an acre of Zinfandel vineyards -- with terrific views over Sonoma Valley towards Sonoma Mountain.
You’ve come to Sonoma to savor its pleasures, and you might well find that some of the best are at Villa Juliana -- the joint product of an architectural historian and an interior designer passionate about Classical style, but also about cooking and efficiency.
The architecture, the interior design, and the extensive landscaping and vineyards will remind you of the Italian countryside. Almost every room opens to the outdoors, with windows and light throughout.
Downstairs is for entertaining, dining, and just hanging out. 10-foot ceilings, fauxed walls, and tile and hardwood floors contribute to the Tuscan mood. The formal dining room seats 8; and the outdoor areas provide multiple settings for coffee, cocktails, or dinner. Sonoma County ordinance allows entertaining up to 6 extra guests who are not staying over. The separate study provides a private place for work, reading, or watching tv.
Top-of-the-line kitchen appliances, including a 6-burner commercial stove, a prep island, and a second prep area with its own dishwasher, let you indulge your passion for cooking and entertaining, and provide ample resources for catered events. Covered and open outdoor areas let you take in the beautiful views, landscaping, vineyard, and pergola and pool area.
3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are up the grand staircase. The master bedroom (queen size bed) has its own tv and fireplace; the master suite includes dual sinks, a walk-in closet, and a walk-in tile shower for 2. Begin and end the day from the private balcony overlooking the pool area and broad Sonoma Valley beyond.
The second bedroom hosts a 4-poster queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom shared with the third bedroom. The second bedroom shares a second covered balcony with the master bedroom. The 3rd bedroom shares the second bathroom with its deep tub/shower combination and also has a queen size bed.
Walk in the vineyards; take a dip in the pool or luxuriate in the hot tub; hang out on the chaise longues in the pergola area; and gather around the fire pit during cool evenings.
Every weekend, and often on summer weekdays, you can see brightly-clad bicyclists starting their strenuous climb up the 7-mile Cavedale Road hill made famous by Lance Armstrong. It makes for a picturesque, but windy and bumpy car ride as well, especially if you stop at Petroni Vineyards for wine tasting a mile or two up the hill.
And of course there’s always all of Sonoma outside the property. Villa Juliana beautifully blends seclusion and access. B.R.Cohn Vineyards is less than a mile away, and there are over 60 wineries and tasting rooms with 5 miles. Whether this is your first or your tenth visit to Wine Country, you’ll always treasure the memories of Villa Juliana.
This is our personal home, and we trust you will show it the same care we do.

Why Julie Belott chose Sonoma
My wife built this house in the late 90's. It was a 2-acre donkey pasture. She designed it with an architectural historian who specialized in the Renaissance architect Andreo Palladio. Landscaping was designed by a leading Sonoma landscape designer (and personal friend). Julie also made all the draperies inside and out, and recently designed and constructed the lovely fire pit (and made the cushions).
What makes this house unique
I never tire of the changing views of Sonoma Valley and Sonoma Mountain. The property is secluded, yet everything is nearby.
