Are we near local amenities?: Yes, the High Street is a short walk away and there you find a variety of small shops and quality, bars, cafes & restaurants supermarkets etc... all working till late to make your stay easy and more enjoyable.

Are there public transports?: Yes, there is a hourly bus service to down town Funchal. The journey takes just over 30mns and the last service is a 11pm. There is also a Taxi rank nearby where you can get your cab from. Otherwise just ask for the contact number of one of our recommended taxi drivers. As in all self catering holidays, car hire makes it all the more comfortable and we may be able to get your a preferred rate from our recommended rent-car-car company. Just ask.

What activities can we enjoy?: Amongst a number of experiences our guests can enjoy we recommend: Scuba diving (go to Galo Diving Club 10mns drive away) Dolphin watch (occasionally seen swimming on the water below the villa) Toboggan trip (slide downhill in the safe hands of experienced 'carreteiros' - go to Monte) Levada Walking (fantastic walks in the UNESCO protected forests - see our site for details) Fishing (daily trips from Funchal Marina - Pre booking Only) Wine Tasting (go to Madeira Wine Lodges - Funchal) Half-Day Island Tours (explore the Island's Nature at your own pace - Pls ask for details) Art Sacra Museum (go to Funchal ) Sandy Beach (check Calheta Beach on the West of the Island ) One day cruise to Porto Santo Island (please ask for details ) If you don't want to go far, just pick a selection from the many Portuguese Wines available at the local supermarket & relax by the poolside

Golf: Golfers will be pleased to know that the 18-hole Palheiro golf course is no more than a 10minute drive. Classic Madeiran hills, ridges and deep valleys have all been incorporated into the terrain to produce a dramatically interesting course, with stunning views over the Funchal Bay. The spectacular 27-hole Santo da Serra golf course (also known as Campo de Golfe and home to the Madeira Island Open) is just over 20mns drive away. This is Madeira’s oldest golf course. It sits high up on a plateau and is marvelously scenic with inspirational views back up the mountains and out over the Atlantic below
