Sullivan Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Enjoy all that Downeast Maine has to offer but avoid the Bar Harbor crowds with this charming cottage situated on over 600 feet of prime Flanders Pond waterfront and 55 acres.
The cottage has been lovingly remodeled and includes a queen size bed, a full bath with shower, washer/dryer, pull-out sofa, comfortable reading chairs, a large dining table indoors and another dining area on the screened porch. Spacious enough for a family of 4 but also cozy and romantic for couples.
Flanders Pond is a delightful, quiet lake with beautiful views of near by Schoodic Mountain; the loons are mesmerizing and the water is perfect for swimming, canoeing, kayaking or fishing. (2 kayaks and a canoe provided.) You'll feel a million miles from anywhere -- yet you're only a short drive to Winter Harbor, Ellsworth, and other neighboring towns for groceries, supplies, restaurants, lobster, ice cream and all of the wonderful activities that the area offers. (Many people don't realize that Winter Harbor is also home to a stunning piece of Acadia National Park -- always uncrowded, with a few lovely hikes, a nice biking loop, and some of our favorite views in Maine.) Bar Harbor is a scenic, easy 40-minute drive from the cottage.
This little slice of heaven has been in the family for three generations and we are excited to share it with you. Please note: there is another cottage on the property, used exclusively by the owners, which would be vacant during your stay.

I just wanted to let you know we all had a wonderful time! Thank you for sharing your home away from home with us. It was obvious that you cared about the cabin. Everything looked brand new. We did our first real hiking with the kids. They climbed both Cadillac and Penobscot in Acadia and we also did Schoodic. I wish we had discovered Donnell Pond earlier in the week. It was gorgeous and the kids loved it. Every year we plan our trip to Maine and pick a new place to explore. For the first time I think we will be hard pressed to pick a new spot!
Alison & Damien
We live in Los Angeles but love the serenity of Maine.
Damien's maternal grandfather bought the property in 1950. We hope to keep it in the family for generations to come.
Private waterfront, kayaks & canoe included, short drive to Winter Harbor and 40 minutes to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, views of Schoodic Mtn, modern amenities with classic Maine charm and privacy!
