In this charming and unique, 1800+ sq ft cape-cod style home on Grand Lake, there are three bedrooms and two baths plus an additional den. You will find that our cottage is not only comfortable and cozy, but clean, well-maintained and updated. This home has all the amentities you would expect from a year round home.
BEDROOM #1: Is located on main floor of home with an adjoining bathroom. This room has a queen size bed in it.
A flat screen TV has been added to this room.
BEDROOM #2: Is located upstairs and has a double bed plus a twin/single bed in the room. The bedroom has an adjoining bathroom.
BEDROOM #3: Is also located upstairs and has a double bed in it. NOTE: There is a bathroom between both upstairs bedrooms.
The spacious great room has an open floor plan with a wood burning stove in a fieldstone surround. There is hardwood flooring throughout most of the cottage and two skylights in the vaulted tongue and groove ceiling. The great room has a flat screen TV with a built in DVD player with a small library of DVD's and VHS tapes. The Great Room is a large room with ample, comfortable seating. French doors open off the Great Room to a lovely sunroom where you can relax and have your morning coffee or breakfast while viewing the lake and the spectacular sunrises. A nice size table with 2 chairs is also in the sunroom if you wanted to enjoy your meals there. The sunroom has two settees, and four chairs, a checkerboard table, eight windows facing the lake. The sunroom is 28 feet long. Wood flooring in this room, also.
In addition to the great room, there is charming den with flat screen TV, DVD player, VCR player with an assortment of DVD's and VHS tapes. The couch in the den is a sofa sleeper. The den has a pocket door separating the room from the large, first floor, laundry room.
A full kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. There are chairs around the kitchen table, plus a comfortable banquette for extra seating. The refrigerator has an ice maker. Coffee maker, waffle maker, mixer, blender, George Foreman grill, griddle, electric fry pan, toaster, toaster oven, electric can opener, and microwave are there for your use. We have skewers for marshmallow roasts, grilling tools and grilling platters. The kitchen also has a nice island and peninsula for preparing your food.
Horseshoe pit, croquet set, 3 person swing, and plenty of seating in yard. On the deck there is an ample picnic table, another round table with 2 chairs, plus 4 more chairs. There are another 4 chairs surrounding the fire pit near water's edge.
A loft on the second floor has a floor-to-ceiling bookcase with many books for your enjoyment. A desk is also upstairs in the loft.
There is a full-size washer, dryer, and desk located in the main floor laundry room; plus a large closet with some games and puzzles. Linens and towels, including kitchen dish towels and dishcloths are provided. Beach towels, not provided.
This 80 ft lake front property has a nice level yard between the home and the lake. The water has a hard, sand, weed-free bottom which makes it great for swimming. A 60' aluminum deck, with a built-in bench, is a great place to sit while reading or watching the kiddies. If you are new to Grand Lake, you are definitely in for a treat. Nice, gradual, increase in depth makes it great for small children. There is a fire pit by the lake's edge for your marshmallow roasts. On the deck their is a picnic table with propane gas grill and chairs. Lake front has plenty of chaises and chairs, too.
Grand Lake is an all-sports lake great for all boating and swimming. To drive around Grand Lake would be a 28 mile journey. Walleye, small and large mouth bass, norther pike and many types of pan fish are among the fish caught in Grand Lake. Clear, uncrowded, almost 6000 acres in size with 19 named islands and has an average width of 2 miles and is 12 miles in lengh. It is definitely a lake ready to be explored!
The marina is 1/2 mile from the cottage. You can rent pontoons, and fishing boats. Grand Lake Marine 989 595-3365 Presque Isle is 15 miles S. of Rogers City and 20 miles N of Alpena. Minutes from Lake Huron.
