Loft apartment right on Apalachicola River at the mouth of Scipio Creek. Sleeps at least 8, full kitchen and dining area, 1 shower, 3 sleeping areas, w/d, beautiful view.
Wake in the morning and have a cup of coffee watching the boats sail out for the day. As the sun comes up, watch the different birds come in to rest on the docks out back and the river's wildlife wake up and start the day. Manatees come up to eat the sea grass, dolphins meander up the creek and back, and alligators stroll down the creek. After breakfast in our full kitchen, take a 2 block walk to find all the downtown antique shoppes, restaurants, and stores. Buy a souvenir for yourself or a friend. Visit the Apalachicola River Keepers and the Maritime Museum to educate yourself about the area. At lunch, come back and have lunch right next door to your home away from home, at Up the Creek Raw Bar.

We have stayed in the Apalachicola/Indian Pass area each year for the past 4years. We wanted to stay in town this time but we still wanted to bring our two Labs with us so we booked the Water Street Loft. It was clean, comfortable and walking distance to everything in Apalach including parks, restaurants, stores and attractions. There is plenty of room for a large family or a bunch of friends. If I still had my boat it would have been ideal as there is a ramp on the property.
Nothing fancy here but very enjoyable watching all the boat traffic on Scipio Creek and the apalachicola River.
Our family (husband, wife and three kids) wanted to stay in Apalachicola over the Thanksgiving holiday for a seafood weekend. Santa was expected to come to town on a shrimp boat and light the town, which was going to be a great surprise for the kids. We looked at all the bed and breakfasts and some nearby hotels, but found them to be either pricey or not kid friendly. The pictures of the Loft had a homey feel and river view just drew us in – it looked so relaxing.
When we arrived, we were really astonished at the location and spaciousness of the Loft. It was a really cool beach house with its own private dock in an industrial area! The place is so much bigger than the pictures portray. The balcony and the rows of windows made place look so bright and airy. Everything was clean and had a real artist flare to it. It was perfect.
After arriving in Apalachicola, the town was also relatively quiet. Gwen (the owner) was so gracious and provided us with a list of places that would be open on Thanksgiving. We had wonderful dinner at The Owl Café and scoped out the town out while it was quiet. It’s a good thing because the next night was full of activities with the town being lit up by Christmas lights and stores, restaurants, and museums open for all the tourists.
Apalachicola is the quaintest beach city in Florida we have ever been to. It is a small, rustic, coastal town and filled with all the southern charm. And we love the fact that it is a fishing town, so staying at the Loft near the industrial waterfront is just exciting to us.
During our stay we visited both St. Joseph and St. George state parks.
We truly enjoyed our stay here. Gwen is so casual and friendly. We highly recommend it.
This is a great apartment, location, lots of room, the view is amazing, and Gwen went out of her way to make it even better. If your going to Apalachicola, this is the place to stay.
My friends and I have stayed at the Water Street Loft several times in the last few years. When in Apalachicola we would stay not where else. Walking distance to downtown, great facilities, and beautiful view of the River. Highly recommend the Loft to fishermen and anyone looking for a great vacation spot.
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. There's so much room and it's only minutes away from downtown and restaurants, We hope to go back soon!
Apalachicola is a historic town with great seafood and fishing, a unique shopping experience, a wide array of dining choices, and antiques galore.
While in Apalach you should make it a goal to try the oysters, cooked different ways, ba
