This really is a fantastic opportunity for you to get close to everything which makes the region of South West France truly special. Set right in the heart of Gascony (Gers) with so many wonderful things to offer. The friendliness and warmth of its people, the celebrations throughout the year, the regional cuisine which is wholesome from the heart cooking and the exciting wines and Armagnac from local vineyards. Both our holiday homes have been restored to a very high standard, and we are offering the best holiday accommodation around at very competitive prices. There is plenty of room for everybody so you will always be able to find a quite spot. Or why not think about a larger gathering of friends or family who just want to get together let their hair down and have a really great self-catering holiday.

'Swallow cottage' really is a hidden gem.Set in the 10 acre grounds of the manor house,with stunning views of the Armagnac valley and beyond.The standard of refurbishment is extremely high, with all the modern amenities one would expect but still maintaining its quaint,rustic characteristics,which makes it all the more appealing.There are 3 charming bedrooms,2 twin,and 1 double and 2 stylish bathrooms.The kitchen is very well equipped with 4 ring gas oven,DW, FF, WM,MV. The kitchen has a real country feel which is accentuated by the farmhouse dinning table.The main living area is very spacious and comfortable with plenty of soft seating.Great feature fireplace which sets the room off nicely.Through the doors at the rear of the property is a lovely patio and covered terrace and the added bonus of a gas B.B.Q.The cottage for me is perfect for a family or a group of friends who want to experience something very typical of the area,and immerse themselves in a little piece of French history

Caupenne d Armagnac is situated in the heart of the gers which is one of the most less populated depts in all of France, thus creating stress free driving to a destination of your choice whether this may be a city, town or local farm to buy your regional products.From our grounds weather permitting you can see the mountains which divide this beautiful part of the world and in a car you can cross into Spain in under 2 hrs for a bargin or two.Or why not hit the silver coast where you will see breathtaking scenes out over the atlantic. Above Biarritz which is only 1.5 hrs there are over 100kms of soft sandy beaches where the surf is high and you will never be short of beach. Closer to home we are surrounded by Vine yards and Armagnac distillers.Our nearest town is Nogaro only 4 kms away which is a vibrant bustling typical french town. You will find everything you need for a self catering holiday.There is also a selection of bars and bistros and a fresh market every wed,sat morning

Notes: as you will see from the website or photos our house is maintained to a very high standard but at the same time offering comfort for all .we welcome large groups or families where with over ten acres of grassland and forest there is always something to do outside.If the weather takes a turn for the worst then we have a large 110sqm games room with Billiard.Full size ping pong and many other games to keep either the children or yourselves entertained.Cycles are available at any time.Pool area we have a stunning pool area with covered bar terrace soft seating and fridge facilities the pool itself is 12x8m with infinity depth 1m all around the sides to 1.8m in the middle making this pool available to all swimmers or none swimmers.There are lots of sun loungers chairs and the odd inflatable to ride on, parasols tables and chairs make this area a very relaxing place to be.All these facilities are FREE (No hidden extras)

We stayed in Swallow Cottage in July/August 2008. My wife found the cottage after a long internet search and this looked to be ideal for us and our 2 children (aged 12 and 14). We flew down to Pau airport and booked a hire car that we used throughout our 2 week stay. A car is a must and we also used a SatNav for the first time and that was very useful too! We had a wonderful couple of weeks and the weather was superb. The pool area that Rob and Kate have made is wonderful and it was just behind the cottage. We had several days out and about and the highlight for us was probably the Jazz Festival at Marciac which is about a half hour drive away. I also went gliding at the nearby airstrip at Nogaro which is right next to a race circuit. Their is usually something going on at the circuit, either cars or bikes and we went along one day to see a classic bike race and then a sidecar race. We also had a wander around the pit area one day when there were several teams testing there. When we stayed in the cottage, there were 2 families staying in the main house and they had driven down from Belgium. We spent several evenings together having a drink in the little bar area between the two properties. Rob and Kate are wonderful hosts and nothing would be too much trouble for them. We would love to return someday soon and would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday property to a friend.
