Whether you walk, cycle or drive, you will without going far, experience a sense of tranquility, and space amongst the rolling hills, lakes and forests. You are more likely to come across deer, wild boar and other wildlife than traffic. Cycling is a great way to see the countryside - the chateau has some bicycles for its guests and additional bicycles can be hired locally. One of the favourite bike rides is to the Lac de Feyt. This beautiful lake is only a stone’s throw from the chateau and its beach is monitored by lifeguards. There are boats for hire, tennis courts and a small restaurant.
A mere ten minutes drive from the chateau is horse riding. Further afield, pursuits include golf, hot-air ballooning, hang gliding and canoeing on the Dordogne which is just twenty minutes away.
The Cahors, Bergerac and Bordeaux wine regions are also within easy reach. 1.5hrs away is the Massif Central mountain range and its ski resorts, so it is possible to drive for a day’s skiing.
