Sit on your own patio/balcony and enjoy a close view to the Eastern end of the beach. Just a hundred metres flat walk and your feet will be on the sand. Being one back from the beachfront and slightly elevated means that your privacy won't be intruded on by passers-by. Waiiheke Island is a world-renowned jewel set in the Hauraki Gulf just a 35 minute fast ferry ride from Downtown Auckland. It is famous for its boutique vineyards and olive groves, its spectacular ocean side beaches and its friendly relaxed lifestyle. Onetangi is the longest and arguably the best ocean beach on the island. There are two beachfront cafés (just a 2 minute walk away from The Waves). You can kayak, windsurf, swim in the safe clean waters, go horse trekking, or do one of the many coastal walks. For the less energetic there is the wine-tasting, gourmet food, soaking up the summer sunshine, watching a movie in our quirky cinema or visiting local artist galleries. There is always something to enjoy on Waiheke with lots of local festivals, concerts etc.
