Amenities:
Although the house is on the seafront, the rear garden and dining terrace are extremely secluded. Although they overlook the garden we have never felt intruded upon by neighbours. An early morning breakfast in the sun on the dining terrace is a great start to a day exploring the island or going to the beach.
The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of cookery utensils and china. The new oven has a rotisserie if you really want to cook a chicken or roast a joint of meat! The kitchen table and chairs can be taken outside to the dining terrace for larger groups. Most guests love spending time out there in the evening.
On the other hand, the local hotel is a delight. We go there most days either to have coffee, use the internet, have a meal or use their swimming pool. The staff are invariably courteous and helpful.
Beach Life:
The beach is immediately in front of the house and is suitable for swimming or for small children to paddle. Deep water swimming can be done from the stone promontory next to the hotel.
Lovrecina Beach [sandy], with its car park and little restaurant, is a short drive away around the coast.
Bol, with its famous Zlatni Rat beach, is a 45 minute drive across the island.
Activities:
Because of Postira's close proximity to Supetar, the Jadrolinija ferry port, it is a simple matter to visit Split. Here you can spend a fantastic day in the Old City [built within Diocletian's 2000 year old Roman palace]. Sun yourself in the Peristyl; Have coffee overlooking the sea in the Riva. Shop for artefacts in the old cellars.
Many little boats ply their way between the islands and you can organize a day trip or beach picnic from one of the little tourist offices.
Or, if you wish, you can hire a motorbike or a four-wheeler quad bike for the day from the little company opposite the ferry dock and explore the island, which is also a car hire firm.
