Villa Caruso and Villa Sereni are 2 large, 3 bedroom semi-detached, luxury villas situated on the Eastern bank of Lago Maggiore, both with stunning views across the lake. Set in a quiet hamlet beside a mountain stream, each property sleeps 6-8. They are both beautifully furnished and decorated in a modern, contemporary style. These properties can be rented jointly to accomodate up to 12-16 guests.

Villa Caruso is a luxuriously decorated, contemporary, 3 bedroom semi detatched villa set in a quiet hamlet with stunning views over Lake Maggiore. This luxury property sleeps 6-8 and is set over 3 floors. The property is south westerly facing with over 120 m2 of interior living space, 3 large balconies and a teak-decked terrace. The villa is located 3 miles north of the bustling lakeside town of Luino with a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Less than 5 miles from the Swiss border, the villa also provides easy access to the Swiss towns of Lugano and Locarno. Lake Como is a one hour drive and trains run direct from Luino to Milan in an hour.

Lake Maggiore is a breathtakingly beautiful area of Italy. The house is perfectly situated for visiting the Borromean islands and towns around the lake - Luino, Cannobio, Cannero, Stresa and Arona - or you could use it as a base to visit Milan (an hour away by train) or the other Italian Lakes - Como, Orta and Garda. You are also just 15 minutes away by car from Switzerland and the beautiful Swiss city of Lugano. Lugano has some fantastic shops as well as a beautiful lido which we would highly recommend in the summer. Nearby Luino boasts the biggest weekly market in Europe whilst the nearest beaches are just 5 minutes away by car, and there are plenty of opportunities for watersports, golf, walking, cycling and skiing nearby. The large en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in wet room shower, spa bath, WC and bidet as well as his and hers sinks. A separate balcony leads from the bathroom to the rear of the property with views across the hills. White Company throws & cushions give the bedroom a luxurious feel. Bedroom 2 (Double Bedroom with balcony): This has a double bed, wardrobe, console table and bedside cabinets. It is another beautifully decorated room with White Company bedding. A private balcony with a table and chairs provides a great view of the lake. Bedroom 3 (Twin Bedroom): Set at the rear of the property on the second floor, Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds and a large window with views to the hills beyond.

Lounge Area: The lounge has a large corner sofa and a large patio window looking out to the terrace and the lake beyond. For entertainment, it has a Sony Bravia flat screen TV and DVD player as well as a Bose i Pod docking station. Satellite receiver with UK channels. Internet access. Wii fit games machine. Terrace: The private terrace overlooks the lake and is set in teak decking with a dining table and chairs for 6, as well as a parasol and BBQ. The terrace is fully bordered by 1.2m high railings. In addition, the villa has 3 balconies, 2 with lake views and 1 with views over the countryside. Those with lake views are equipped with a table and 2 chairs.

How to Get There: Fly to Milan Malpensa: The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa which is approximately 45 miles drive from the house. Several airlines fly here. Easyjet flies from London Gatwick, Bristol or Edinburgh, or you can travel by British Airways or Lufthansa from London Heathrow or Flybe from Birmingham and Manchester. Fly to Milan Linate: Transfer time from the airport is approximately 120 minutes. Easyjet fly to Linate from London Gatwick and British Airways fly there from London Heathrow. Fly to Milan Bergamo: Transfer time from the airport is approximately 120 minutes. Ryanair fly to Milan Bergamo from London Luton, London Stansted, Bristol, Liverpool, Bournemouth, East Midlands and Glasgow. Jet 2 fly to Bergamo from Leeds Bradford and BMI Baby fly from Birmingham. Car hire is available from all airports - please ask for more details on booking. Alternatively a train service will take you from Milan Central station to Luino in 1-2 hours (depending on time of day).

Exactly as described, - stunning lake views from the balconies of a very stylish, comfortable villa. Very peaceful location, the only sounds we heard were cow bells and birds singing. Lots to do in the area, - excellent information pack at the villa detailing areas of interest, restaurants etc as well as the usual helpful house-keeping info.
We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Caruso and are looking forward to a return visit next year.

The Villa Caruso offers full justification to the wonderful pictures on this site. The owner has put a great deal of effort (and money I guess) into facilities and decor which make up a very modern and fully equipped holiday home with air con, WiFi, DVD and a super kitchen being some examples. It is situated some hundred meters above sealevel which enables the great view and the quietness surrounding it. Perfect place for an author to write a book. A car is essential. If you look for peace and tranquility the Caruso is of all-year relevance although I would probably pass on the drive way to the house if there was any risk of slippery. It is steep indeed.

Perfect location

The description of this beautiful villa is accurate to the last detail. It is clean, the facilities are excellent and the owner was so helpful to us. There is plenty to do locally and Switzerland is just a short drive away. Lugano is beautiful and well worth a visit. The lido was excellent, with a beach and several swimming pools, kept the children happy! Ate out and was never disappointed. The local supermarkets in Luino are great and we ate in and it tasted better than it does at home!! Cheap wine, forget the duty free! Visited a chocolate factory, children happy again! Went to Maranello to the Ferrari museum and shop. A day trip but great for all car lovers. Ventured into Milano to see the San Siro stadium, which included a tour and museum and the sports shop. The villa is so comfortable and we just had days where we did nothing but chill and enjoy the fantastic views. Have already recommended to family and friends. You do need to hire a car if you plan to go on trips during your stay. The kitchen has everything you require for self catering. There is a docking station, internet access and British TV channels which kept our teenage kids happy too. It is the only holiday we've ever had, that we would definately want to return.

Villa Caruso is everything the description says that it is! The owners have done a lot to make this a lovely home from home, with little touches throughout the house to make it feel like it was your own. We loved the handwritten guide and tried all the suggestions that were made. We didn't have a single bad experience and can throughly recommend all the ideas that are suggested.

We stayed for 5 weeks and had the best time both at the villa and in the surrounding area. This is a quiet part of the lakes, which makes it more breath-takingly different. There are some fabulous walks (both up and on the flat) and great places to get to the lake. A perfect holiday for a group of friends and also for a family.

We have definitely recommended Villa Caruso to friends (some of which came out to visit us whilst we were there). Many of them are keen to revisit the place & the villa and we are definitely planning a return visit ourselves in the future.

Thanks so much for a fabulous holiday.

Perfect holiday spot

Villa Caruso exceeded all expectations! The villa itself is new and very tastefully decorated. The views from the balconies and terrace were stunning. The villa is well-equipped for cooking and our family reunion was a great success with many dinners and BBQs on the deck, games to play and movies to watch afterwards. Lago Maggiore is a gorgeous part of Italy with plenty of sightseeing and good food. The owners of the villa were very helpful with all of our questions prior to arrival and their book of instructions and recommendations proved invaluable. We should have read it upon arrival though instead of fumbling with the TV and heating etc. before figuring it out. Luino is the nearest town and is well equipped with playgrounds, ferry connections and supermarkets. We particularly liked Isola Bella (for the beautiful views all around), Isola Madre (with its interesting castle), Cannero, Cannobio (both quite low-key and less touristy than other towns in the area) and the village of Monteviasco (only reachable by cable car or foot) with its gorgeous views and rusticity.
