I've lived at Quintessence farm for 35 years. The property has been continually updated and improved by myself and my parents over the last 38 years. I work at the City of Kingston and enjoy the relaxing pace of life on the farm. Sitting by the pool, enjoying the gardens or watching a movie is how my wife and I enjoy spending the weekend.
Luke Follwell purchased this chateau / country house in 2009
I have so many fond memories growing up in the country and would like to share some of my experiences with you.
Quintessence farm is very private and well kept. It is an easy commute to Downtown Kingston (45 minutes) and Prince Edward County (15 minutes). I enjoy coming to the farm for the weekend to relax.
I think most of the comments sum it up quite well. The place is nice and spacious. The grounds are great for kids with lots of space and a playground. The pool and hot tub are great to use and the pitching green was an added bonus. The house is well-equiped and the owners have thought about the little things to make the stay great. The only drawback was surphury smelling water that took a day to get used to. The owners provided a water cooler though, so we weren't worried at all about safety. We have two small kids and they loved the place. We will definitely come back and will recommend the place to any family or group looking for a laid-back vacation.
We rented Quintessence Farm in 2013 & 2014 - and it just gets better and better.
Wonderful hosts, fabulous location, and beautiful home, you can't ask for more!
The other reviews sum it up, you just gotta try it out for yourselves.
We were a group of 7 men having our 26th Annual Boys Golf Weekend, and needed a place to relax, sleep, eat and catch up between rounds of golf at some of the nearby course. Quintessence Farm was perfect! Lots of space, great kitchen, loads of parking, lots of bedrooms, wonderful pool and hot tub, and of course the pitching green in the back was a great touch! It was stress free, comfortable, peaceful and convenient. Communication ahead of time was excellent. Close to some good golf courses like Black Bear Ridge. The only area for improvement is the water supply, which smells quite sulfury. Safe but sulfury. However, there was also a water cooler for good drinking water supply. The TV/ games room was a great place to watch some Stanley Cup playoffs as bonus. All in all, a great place for families and other gatherings. Two thumbs up!
A group of 10 (myself included), we all planned for a weekend getaway which was more than a success. Out of all the places that I've rented out in the past, I've never been to a location that was more than accomodating.
First off the amenities:
They provided a wii, they have a pond that can be used as an ice rink that is well lit at night, a firepit, a wide selection of dvd's to watch, a hot tub, a poker table, and a wall unit filled with various board games. There's enough to accomodate any age group.
The place had 3 bathrooms all fully equiped with a shower along with shampoo and conditioner, more than enough bedrooms, they even provided towels and toilet paper which is definitely not a common find! The kitchen was huge along with the dining room where we were all able to get together to eat.
The Quinessence farm went beyond our expectations this weekend and we would totally go back again!
We had a great time at the farm. We were two families with small kids. There was plenty to do on the property as well as in the house for everyone, not once did we hear that the kids were bored. The Sandbanks is fairly close so we made a couple of trips there as well. The only complaint we had was the strong sulphur smell of the water (especially in the main floor washroom). The owners were excellent to deal with and always responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had, before, during and after our stay. Overall it was a great vacation :)
This is our fourth vacation rental in as many years and it is by far our favourite! It's a place to call home for a week & we can't wait to come back next summer.
The house is huge and boasts plenty of space for everyone. The pool and backyard is where we spent most of our time. Bedrooms are nicely decorated and beds are comfortable. Lots of games, DVDs, etc... to keep kids busy.
The kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms are all well-stocked with dishes, supplies, soaps, detergents, linens, etc... All you need to bring are your clothes & food. Belleville is close by, so grocery shopping was easy.
Luke was very responsive from the time of my initial inquiry and was always available to answer questions. I appreciated the email that I received from him a few days into our rental to check-in on us.
Highly recommend Quintessence Farm!
