Come and relax at 'Peaceful Pines' in the Village of Crosslake. This property is located on the east shore of Crosslake and has one of the most desirable locations on the entire Whitefish Chain of lakes. We are just a short walk to the Riverside Restaurant, Crosslake Dam and Corp of Engineers campground with two boat launching ramps.
This cabin is where you can relax with a glass of wine, read a book, watch the some of the most beautiful sunsets right here in the backyard or on the big deck! It's a great place for families and friends to get a way for some relaxation and enjoy the lake life.
Our Cabin is located on 3 wooded acres with plenty of parking for boat trailers and several cars.
In the main house there's a large family room upstairs with a 12' long picture window overlooking the lake, a stone fireplace, TV, DVD player and stereo system for your enjoyment.
Last spring we renovated the living room a new couch and 2 very relaxing Lazy-Boy chairs, they are the perfect relaxation spot after boating around the lake all day!
The kitchen was recently renovated, with new S/S & black appliances, granite tiled counter tops and maple cabinets. The dining room which is part of the kitchen has a mid-century country french table that seats up to 8 people and a matching server/hutch. The kitchen comes fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, small kitchen appliances and tall he utensils you could need. There is also a kitchenette on the lower level with a refrigerator, sink and microwave oven, which is handy for keeping your beverages cold and snacks ready for the boat.
The master bedroom is located downstairs with sliding glass doors that lead to the walk out lower patio area. This room has a queen size bed, dress, chest of drawers and a small walk in closet. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one on the lake side of the house and the other on the south side. The lake front bedroom has a double/full size bed and the other room has a queen size. There is one bathroom upstairs and 2 downstairs. We have a laundry room with a washer/dryer and utility sink just off of the kitchen area on the way to the garage.
On the back deck that over looks the lake we have a table with 6 chairs which is the perfect place for those family meals while on vacation or cocktails with your friends while watching the amazing sunsets!
We also have a large 8' wood picnic table in the yard and a fire ring for those evening bon fires and roasting marshmellows. This is a perfect location for entertaining your friends.
This is the perfect get away home because all you will need to bring are your clothes & toiletries! It's move in ready!
Keywords: This is a great 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, 2 story cabin right on Crosslake with views of the 2 islands. This is at the center of everything!
This charming cabin has a lower walk-out level with a master bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchenette, dining area and storage cellar. There is a large deck that runs the entire length of the house on the lake side. Where we have a nice sized dining table with 6 chairs. In the family room there's a wood burning fireplace, A/C unit and new living room furniture, including lazy boy rocker chairs and of course a great view of the lake. We renovated the Kitchen last spring and installed new appliances that are S/S & black, there's also granite tile counter tops, all the pots, pans and dishes you could possibly need! We have beautiful views of the 2 Islands, an easy 5 minute walk to the village and Pine River Dam, newer vinyl docks & a solar powered boat lift. All of these things will make for a wonderful get a way lake vacation that will be include lots o
My husband is a native of Minnesota and has been coming to Crosslake for part of every summer for almost 60 years. Other family members first purchased property on Crosslake in 1948. We are pleased to be able to share this special place with others who will find the area charming and the perfect getaway place to visit and relax. It's a great place to build family memories.
Valerie or Craig Lindholm purchased this cabin in 1998
We decided to invest in this cabin in order to be close to family and friends in the area. Our children have formed a special connection to this location as well.
Crosslake and the Whitefish Chain of Lakes are exceptional. Our location is fantastic for swimming with sand bottom and gradual depth increases. Front-row seat for the July 4 fireworks and sunsets are beyond description. The convenience of being so close to local merchants, groceries and restaurants is a real plus. Last but not least, our neighbors are the best!
...was true to its name! Very nice, clean, and homey place and fully stocked. True that you only need to bring your personal items to enjoy a beautiful week in Crosslake!!
There are so many places to visit around this summer home. Take your bikes if you can!!
But many things within walking distance too!!
Craig and his Dad were very easy to work with and made our stay inviting!! We left a pair of sunglasses there and they even took the time to track them down and send them back to us!! Thank you!!
This was a once in a lifetime family trip!!
Do keep in mind tho that it really only does sleep 6 adults...7 if one would like to sleep on the sofa (not a roll out) in the living room! BTW...from the living room...The view of the sunset is incredible!!!!
We so enjoyed our nightly fires on their beach...so beautiful!
Thank you for these great memories we made!!
This is the second year in a row that we have (with another couple) rented “Peaceful Pines”. Together we have towed two bass boats up to Crosslake, and there was more than ample room in front of the house to maneuver and park both boat trailers. We found it more convenient to back the trailers up the driveway from Sand Pointe Drive — a bit of a challenge at first but with practice this was easily done.
The house was ideal for us. With recent remodeling upgrades, this home is very nicely appointed (with cable TV and wi-fi), spotlessly clean, and spacious enough for us all, even with a weekend visit by some younger family members. The view of the lake is magnificent, and it was not uncommon to see bald eagles soaring overhead, or to hear loons calling to one another across the vast expanse of the water. What’s more, from time to time we moored our boats at the property’s metal dock, and we even used the dock’s boat lift to secure one of our boats. The fishing on Cross Lake is exceptional, and we often caught northern pike and largemouth bass by simply casting lures from the end of the dock or by wading a few feet out from the sandy beach.
Perhaps the most appealing feature of Peaceful Pines is its location. Located just off the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway, it is very close to “downtown” Crosslake, and ATM’s, several restaurants, gift shops, a coffee bar, a Holiday gas station and convenience store, a supermarket, two wine & spirit shops, and an Ace Hardware store are all within easy walking distance from the house. Everything is within a ten-minute stroll.
So, if you’re avid anglers as we are, or you just want to get away from it all for a week up on the Whitefish Chain, “Peaceful Pines” is certainly worth a look. We highly recommend it.
My wife and I (and sometimes the kids) have enjoyed three terrific stays at this warm, comfortable cabin on Cross Lake in northern Minnesota. This is my first review (shame).
First, the property is situated in a deeply wooded lot about 40 feet from the lake and the lake view is fabulous. Neighbors on one side, but you don't feel too close. Cross Lake is a neat lake connected to several others. You could boat or canoe for hours and never see the same scenery.
The owners, Craig & Valerie are terrific people being very responsive to my many questions. Everything they represented about the property was accurate. The cabin and grounds are neat and well maintained. There's a dock if you want to bring a boat.
The property is located smack dab in the middle of the huge "Brainerd Lakes" area so there are tons of neat small towns to see, great golf courses nearby and other attractions for children of all ages.
I used to live in Minnesota and always loved the northern lakes region. The air smells great, the pace is comfortable and the views of the many clear blue lakes cannot be appreciated enough.
Any negatives? The stairway to the lower level needs to be considered for anyone with ambulatory restrictions, but there's plenty to do on the first floor. Plus the lower level can be accessed by walking around the house to the lake side.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this perfect lake location. Great boating, sightseeing, and relaxing. We love to walk and it's perfect for walking through the woods and into town. Shops and restaurants just a short walk away. Enjoyed lounging on the deck and viewing the gorgeous sunsets. The house is spotless and has all the essentials. Kitchen is completely renovated and up to date. We highly recommend this vacation get-a-away!!
We found the property exactly as advertised on the VRBO web site. The home was welcoming, clean and very well stocked with everything we could need. The owners were very helpful and responsive to all our questions and made our stay care free. The large deck on the back of the home has a beautiful view of the lake with picture perfect sunsets every evening. The dock and boat lift were great additions to the property that gave us easy access to the 14 lakes on the White Fish Chain.
One of the best front row viewing locations of the 4th July boat parade and spectacular fireworks! This is a great spot to boat to the other 14 interconnected lakes on the Whitefish Chain of lakes. You can enjoy endless days of boating and fishing with your friends and family!
